We met at Rec Hall - a bar in Saint Charles, Missouri. One of my friends from high school invited me out for the night with her classmates from UMSL optometry school; she promised there would be cute boys there. Obviously, no good night in St. Chuck starts without El Maguey and margs, so we arrived at Rec Hall already having a great time. When a ~really~ cute guy walked in, I played it WAY too cool and ignored him. At some point, I told the story of how I nannied for a family that lived in a civil war era haunted house (I absolutely hate scary things, can't even watch scary movies), and that definitely got his attention. Then we went back to mutually ignoring each other. At the end of the night, he walked up and said goodbye to my friend (but not to me, which was rude). The next day, he texted me and asked me out. Sometimes, playing it cool works. ;)
My roommate in optometry school recommended a few of my classmates and I to go out for some drinks at a local bar called Rec Hall in St. Charles, MO. I had never been to a bar like it, so I was in. Word got around our class and instead of the initial few, almost our whole class showed up, the more the merrier! I was walking around with a few friends when I noticed a girl talking to my classmates whom I did not recognize. She was telling a story about how she used to babysit these kids at a creepy house and basically how the youngest one kept seeing ghosts. Now I LOVE Halloween, so I was hooked. I listened to her story and after she was done I awkwardly asked her to tell me more about her experiences (smooth, I know). We chatted for a little and then we went our separate ways, but I couldn't get her out of my head. Eventually my friend and roommate that I rode to the bar with was getting ready to leave, so I went to say my good-bye's but I was too shy to say goodbye to Mckenzie...so I didn't. On the car ride home I told my friend about how pretty she was and how stupid I was for not saying anything or getting her number. He told me to text our classmate that she showed up there with to get her info, so I did. The next day I texted her, and as they say, the rest is history.
