Ian & McKenzie first met in 2015 when they were in high school. Maybe a little before that when ian would go over to McKenzie’s house to hangout with her sister’s. Despite Ian’s reserved nature and McKenzie’s outgoing personality they connected on a friendship level and occasionally hung out at parties together. Then Ian graduated high school and joined the Marine Corps and McKenzie graduated and went into the Army National Guard. McKenzie tried to stay in touch but got little responses from Ian. Once Ian came home after 4 years they reconnected their friendships and McKenzie knew she had a little crush on him but was hesitant on how he felt. Finally Ian asked McKenzie out on a date in 2022. They knew after their first date that something special bloomed from their friendship. Fast forward 3 years filled with adventures, laughter, love, being dog parents to Zeus, and long distance. They knew they wanted forever together. They bought a house and welcomed another dog, Xena, to their little family of 3. Ian popped the question on their 3rd year anniversary of their relationship in Stillwater, MN. The same town where they went on their first date. They are so excited to begin this chapter as husband and wife!
