The University of Iowa events team follows CDC protocol for the safety of guests. Our wedding is a small family gathering and while our reception is larger, guest tables will be spaced and you will be seated with family/close friends in the Ballroom. Appetizers and your meal will be served to your table from UI Catering staff. Masks are encouraged, but not required, by the University of Iowa. Please be aware that if you wish to purchase cocktails, the bar accepts only debit/credit cards. Please check back for any updates closer to our big day! Due to a smaller ceremony venue we will be requesting that ceremony attendees wear a mask.
Tyler and McKenna are getting married in a private ceremony on October 2nd, 2021. We can't wait to celebrate with all of you that evening at our wedding reception.
The ceremony will begin at 2:30 pm in the Danforth Chapel in Iowa City, IA. The address is the same as the reception address: 125 N Madison St. Iowa City, IA 52245. It is located in Hubbard Park, just south of the IMU. Parking information is the same for both the ceremony and the reception.

Our cocktail hour will start at 5:30 PM on October 2nd. Dinner service will begin around 6:30 PM.
As we have chosen an intimate wedding ceremony and reception, it is only possible to accommodate children of the bride and groom's immediate family.
We have hired an amazing photographer for our entire wedding day! With that in mind we ask that you keep your cell phones and cameras put away for the entirety of our wedding ceremony to ensure the best photos possible. Don't worry, we will share them all with you once we have received them.
There is a parking ramp located across the street from the Iowa Memorial Union. There are also parking ramps located at the hotels in which we have blocks. Hilton Garden Inn gives discounts to guests staying at their hotel for $14 a day. Hampton Inn in Coralville offers free parking for guests staying at their hotel. The Hyatt also offers free parking to guests staying at their hotel.
We have made hotel blocks at reduced rates at the Hampton Inn, Hyatt Place, and Hilton Garden Inn. We have linked websites for both of these hotels under the travel section of our site. Please note that our hotel block expires on September 2nd so please plan accordingly!

We kindly ask that you RSVP by 9/3/21 so we can get an accurate number to our caterer.
We have an RSVP section listed on our wedding website where you can RSVP! When you RSVP you will be given meal options for the reception please select between the herb roasted chicken, the pork chops, or the vegetarian option (mac and cheese).
If you are staying at the Hampton Inn in Coralville we have scheduled a free shuttle to take guests to and from the hotel and the IMU. There are two times in which the shuttle can take you from the hotel to the IMU and there are two return times. 5:15- to the IMU 5:45 – to IMU 10:15 from IMU to hotel 11pm from IMU to hotel
Beer and wine will be hosted during the cocktail hour and through the reception. Any liquor and cocktails will be available for purchase. The IMU is only accepting credit or debit cards for bar purchases so please be aware that cash will not be accepted.
