Our story began just six blocks apart, where we shared the same neighborhood and school from kindergarten through eighth grade, yet our paths never crossed until a talent show at Gordon Tech—a moment that changed everything. It was there, with McKeely singing on stage and Lucas setting up chairs, that our connection sparked. Despite the adventures of growing apart, dating others, and life’s many challenges, our bond only deepened. After a memorable Cubs game freshman year, love blossomed, especially as Lucas rose to support McKeely through health struggles with a selflessness that only strengthened our relationship. Together, we braved the uncertainty of a pandemic and celebrated each other's milestones, from graduations to coping with loss. Our personalities compliment each other beautifully, as McKeely’s vibrant spirit meets Lucas’s calm humor. The proposal, an unforgettable surprise among family at the Brookfield Zoo lights, marked the beginning of our next chapter, and we feel immense joy and gratitude to share this special moment with all of you as we say "I do."
