We met at Rich Farm Ice Cream Shop in 2011. I had been working there as an ice cream scooper for a few summers by then and Chris had just started making waffle cones. Chris was immediately attracted to me because "I was funny and pretty." One day, I starting my shift as Chris was leaving and I was tasked with ensuring Chris knew how to count tips. As I tried explaining, he confidently stated he already knew what to do. Because I am *also* a know it all I had to ask him how. He looked at me and said "You add up all the money and divide it by how many people there are." Before I could say anything, off Chris went to finish his shift. His sarcasm and common sense instantly attracted me to him. We grew our friendship from that moment for years to come.

After a few years of friendship it was obvious to everyone that we thought of each other as more than friends. We were constantly flirting and had conveniently gotten each other's phone numbers so we could text back and forth endlessly. We even pretended to date as a practical joke! Finally, in a random turn of events, Chris and another co-worker were invited to go to the haunted trail in Wallingford, CT. The person who invited them (also a co-worker from Rich Farm) had one more ticket to give away and Chris immediately suggested to call me to see if I was available. That night I could not have been more UNavailable but I had a secret crush on Chris so I moved heaven and earth to meet them. Looking back, this was very obviously a date but neither of us would admit it was. Our next date (what we refer to as our "first" date wasn't until 3 months later in January when Chris asked me to go to McDonalds with him so we could hang out.

After 7.5 years of dating, on July 27th 2020 Chris finally proposed! It was only 2 weeks after the "deadline" date I had given him to propose by a year prior! It was a particularly hot day and we were spending the day together. When he asked to go for ice cream pretty early on in the day, I had some suspicions but the longer we sat eating our ice cream, the more I began to think this was not the day. But, just as I was about to say I was ready to leave, Chris got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was a special moment shared between the two of us where we first met and I couldn't have asked for a better proposal! We spent the rest of the day going to different family and friends homes, socially distanced and all, to share our news!

We are so excited to get married at Candlelight Farms in New Milford, CT! Before we got engaged, we knew we wanted to get married at some type of rustic, relaxed- yet classic, outdoor venue. We (read: Sarah) had our heart set on a different location but when we did a drive-by we were less than impressed. On a whim, we drove by Candlelight and fell in love. We officially visited the venue in October 2020 and knew without touring anywhere else that this was our place! We hope you enjoy the charm and beauty of Candlelight as much as we do!
