We met during Haley's first year at USM, which was Cullen's third year. Haley reached out to join the student newspaper and Cullen was the Editor-in-Chief. With overlapping social circles, we quickly became close friends.

After over a year of friendship, we realized we both had been harboring secret crushes on each other. Our mutual friends knew far sooner than we did. It took a while for us to make things official, because we valued our friendship so much but once we did we knew it would be an everlasting love.

For over three and a half years, our love continued to grow. From college graduation, to first pets, moving to Boston for grad school, moving back to Maine, our first jobs, new apartments and more pets — we did it all together.

Unbeknownst to Haley, Cullen got the ring in November of 2024. With careful time and planning, his main goal was to surprise her — which is usually impossible — with help from her sister Emily and his mom Lisa. What Haley thought was going to be a girls day with Emily taking photos at the beach, while Cullen was working at the Sea Dogs, turned into a surprise proposal at Pine Point Beach. We're looking forward to our Forever & Always on 10/10/26 and are so excited to celebrate with you!
