Are kids welcome?

Answer

Yes, kids are welcome! There is plenty of seating and room for them to attend the ceremony and reception. There is also plenty of room for them to run around inside of Maucker Union or on the University of Northern Iowa campus. Children's meals will be provided - chicken tenders, a fresh fruit cup, mixed vegetables, and cheesy mashed potatoes.

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes, there are nine parking lots total located near Maucker Union and three smaller lots with limited spaces. The closest general parking is in Lot A, located on the West side of Gilchrist Hall. You can reach this lot from University Avenue by turning North onto Campus Street. Handicap parking is on the South side of Rod Library, which can be reached if you continue North on Campus Street. There is also a guest drop-off zone on the East side of Maucker Union on Wisconsin Street. If needed, there is a map on the Travel & Maps page of the website for more information on parking. There will also be signs posted around campus directing you from Lot A to Maucker Union.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation envelope says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.

How do I get to the Maucker Union Ballroom?

Answer

The ballroom is located in the Maucker Union building on the UNI campus. There are three entrances - one on the Northwest side, one on the Southwest side, and one on the Southeast side of the building. All three entrances lead into the common area. The ballroom entrance is located on the North side of the common area.

What are the meal options?

Answer

We will be having a plated meal for our reception dinner. Your RSVP will provide you with the choice of chicken or pork, which will be served with a side of twice baked mashed potatoes and a seasoned vegetable medley. For children, the meal with consist of chicken tenders, a fresh fruit cup, mixed vegetables, and cheesy mashed potatoes.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Of course! We want everyone to be a part of our celebration dinner. We have chosen two gluten free options for our entrees, however, if you have other dietary needs/preferences, please let us know in advance.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

There is no dress code, however, the wedding party will be dressed semi-formally. Guests are welcome to wear whatever they feel comfortable in that is wedding appropriate.
