We both started college during COVID, and since everything was online, a group of students formed a gaming club. That's where we met. We became instant friends. As our group of friends became closer, we formed a Dungeons and Dragons campaign which we both really enjoy playing to this day. Once campus reopened, we started walking to and from classes together, spending more and more time with each other. Then, at a Halloween party, we decided to give "us" a chance -- and it turned out to be the best decision we ever made. Life took some unexpected turns, and we eventually left college due to cirmcumstances beyond our control. Since living on one income wasn't feasible, we decided to team up with another friend and share an apartment as the three of us. That decision brought us even closer. We learned how to navigate life side by side, and somewhere along the way, we fell completely in love. One day, when my parents came to visit, Kyle asked my dad for his blessing to propose. My parents adored him, so of course he said yes. Kyle proposed on his birthday -- June 13th, 2025 -- surrounded by our friends, using my grandmother's wedding ring. It was perfect! We always knew we wanted a Halloween wedding since that's the night we officially started dating. With plans for my dream wedding taking place in Mississippi in 2026, we knew some relatives might not be able to travel, so we decided to have a simple, intimate ceremony first. On October 31st, 2025, we were married at the Cook County Courthouse with our parents by our side. Afterward, we celebrated with Kyle's family and my parents finally got to meet the people we love in Chicago. Now, we're counting down to the big celebration next year, when both sides of the families can come together. We're so incedibly grateful for the love and support that surrounds us, and we can't wait for everything the future has in store.
