Gran Cenote
The cenotes of Tulum are a series of crystalline freshwater pools connected by a maze of underground rivers. There are quite a few cenotes surrounding Tulum. Consider going earlier in the day to avoid crowds and bring cash for the entrance fee and snorkel gear!
Mayan Ruins of Tulum
If you do not want to make the 2 hour trek to Chichen Itza, visit the Mayan Ruins in Tulum! Built on a bluff facing the rising sun, this ruin site is the only Maya settlement located on the beaches of the Caribbean. The views are amazing! Open 8AM - 5PM daily. Get there early to avoid the crowds. Head down to the beach after to cool off in the ocean!

Mayan Clay Spa
The Mayan Clay Spa is located on the jungle side of the Tulum beach road and specializes in detoxing clay massage treatments, using all natural Mayan Clay products. Spa treatments can be reserved for 60 minutes, 90 minutes or 2 hours for both individuals and couples. This is one of the more reasonably priced spa options in Tulum!

Our favorite mojito bar downtown (off of the beach strip) Live music and pure sugar cane for your delicious mojitos! Colorful and vibrant spot to mix it up!
Tulum Jungle Gym
Workout in nature, with nature! A beach front gym straight out of the Flinstones. If you like to work out, this is a must try at least one morning on your trip! (It's a 10 minute beach walk from Kanan) Pricing: this is a cash only gym and you can purchase day passes for $25
Casa Jaguar (Dinner)
A small rustic restaurant in the heart of the jungle Awesome pre-dinner drink vibe at their bar next to the open fire kitchen, can literally see everything they are doing, and it is quite impressive. The vibe here is super rustic, jungly and candlelit. The restaurant showcases a rustic, seasonal kitchen that celebrates an artisanal way of cooking, taking in the history and rich diversity of Mexican gastronomy. Great jungle vibe spot. We got drinks here before dinner one night, awesome atmosphere! They have the best margs! Gitano has a fun jungle vibe, with casual eats, and local artists featuring live music on some nights. Hartwood (Dinner)
Another MUST try when you come to Tulum. Hartwood is legendary... its always busy for a reason! Hartwood's menu changes daily based on the sea and the land. All cooking is done by open fire within their hand made wood burning oven and grill. Every single ingredient that they touch is deeply rooted within Mundo Maya. They use only sustainable fishing methods to ensure a thriving and healthy aquatic life. We recommend Get their ceviche, whole fish, prawns and their steak. For dessert you MUST get their honey pie and their cheesecake gelato. *Reservation 100% recommended. Dinner only, Wednesday to Sunday. They accept reservations one month in advance (e.g. Reservations for March will be taken during February). Sian Ka'an
A UNESCO world heritage site, Sian Ka'an is a protected biosphere about one hour south of Tulum. Home to dolphins, marine turtles and up to 500 species of fish, the Mesoamerican Reef is second only to the Great Barrier Reef in size. Go swimming, paddle boarding and snorkeling. Head to Kaan Luum Lagoon for some amazing crystal clear water.

For those staying at or near Kanan, Sanara is About a 10 minute beautiful beach walk. After Yoga, stop by their beachfront restaurant The Real Coconut for a healthy breakfast, juice or smoothie.

Fun beach club near Kanan. Would definitely recommend this over Taboo. There is a $50 minimum for food and drink.

Another one of our favorites! From the fun music, chill bar, amazing cocktails and the food YUM! Among many things, their Shrimp Pasta dish is TO DIE FOR! Bartenders are super friendly too!
Mateos (Eat/Drink/TVs/Sports)
Really fun spot. several floors, one of the key places to watch sunset in Tulum, they have live music at like 8p every night and each floor has something different going on. This is the place to watch a sports game if need be as they are one of the only places with TVs. Food is good here and a cheaper option if you are looking for one, but vibe is awesome. *Accepts cash + credit cards
