Our first apartment in Charleston was located directly across the street from Revelry Brewing. We watched them build out their space, visited them on opening day and watched them grow into a multi-state brewery. To the day, we still go here frequently to enjoy their awesome beer, sushi (yes, it’s good) and the rooftop views.
This adorable cafe located right around the corner from our house offers breakfast and lunch with indoor and outdoor seating.
Lewis BBQ offers Texas BBQ and is known for being some of the best BBQ in the U.S. The Lewis experience is as authentic as what you would find in Texas, complete with Shiner Bock and brisket by the pound.
From freshly baked pastries, great coffee and free wifi, Merchantile and Mash is a great place to spend your morning or grab a coffee to go. They also offer a unique shopping experience, curating goods made locally in Charleston.
Recently awarded best burger in the U.S (it really is the best), Little Jacks offers an upscale Irish bar feel and features a raw bar, fresh salads, burgers, and steak.
Known for their fried chicken and fresh oysters, Leons offers souther classics with an new age twist. Lighter options are also available like our favorite salad in town, the Siam Salad.
Taco Boy is a local staple and a visitors favorite. Though the tacos are more "Americanized" than what you might find at a classic taco spot, the relaxed atmosphere, indoor/outdoor seating and large menu complete with guacamole and an awesome salad makes this one of the most requested restaurants by visitors.
You can't get much closer to our house than Harrolds. Though it is located 200 yards away, their spiced cold brew, vegetable-heavy and creative dishes make the trip worth it. Filling the spot of the original Harrolds General Store which opened in 1929, the new Harrolds features a rooftop garden where they grow the vegetables used in their dishes. We frequently have brunch, lunch and after dinner drink here.
Home to the BEST seafood in town, 167 Raw fly's in their seafood every morning to create simple and delicious food. I highly recommend their Tuna Burger which is fresh ground tuna patty seared on a brioche bun. They also have a full raw bar, lobster roll, fish tacos and a great wine selection. They don't take reservations and fill up fast so I would suggest arriving around 10:50 to have an early lunch at 11.
Situated in an old bank and located right next to Rainbow Row, One Broad is a great place to grab an inventive breakfast and cup of coffee before exploring the historic district. Their Soft Scramble is a favorite which is a slice of homemade bread, soft scrambled egg, a light pesto drizzle, and burrata. Street parking only.
