Mitch and Lauren first met in the summer of 2008 while both were working on fire crews for the Beaverhead-Deerlodge (B-D) National Forest. Lauren was stationed in Dillon and Mitch was rocking the Whitehall district. As many of you know, the B-D is a pretty small forest in terms of the fire crews. Suffice it to say, they knew each other. However, both will admit that the timing just wasn’t right. And let’s face it, both of them can be pretty intimidating at times. Fast forward to 2012, and the two end up getting assigned to the same fire crew headed down to Pagosa Springs. It could be attributed to the remoteness of the assignment, the lack of cell service as well as the lack of female distractions (Lauren was the only lady on the 20-person crew), or just darn good timing, but sparks of a sort flew. Lauren can remember telling a friend that she was fairly certain she had developed a crush. She and Mitchell exchanged numbers at the end of the roll with plans to meet up for Mitchell's birthday party in a few days. Little did Lauren know that she'd be meeting a large majority of Mitch's family in one fell swoop! The first few months of dating were a blur of cattle drives, carp shooting, and other such adventures. After each determined that the other was “ok,” it's been off to the races ever since. It's been six years and Lauren and Mitch are going to embark on yet another adventure together! They hope you'll join in!

It's one (maybe two) days for you to take out of your own hunting schedule (we'll be missing it, too), but it's a lifetime of a designated hunting day with our best friend by our side!
