We booked a 2 week trip to Thailand for Carley & Tian's big day - with time on either side of the wedding to explore the beautiful country. Mitch had a ring and some ideas of how to propose at the tail end of the trip on the beach. With a typhoon on it's way, Mitch was forced to become creative. the friends we had made at the wedding caught wind of Mitch's plans (we could maybe blame a night of drinking, maybe) and knew of the typhoon coming. Surely, Mitch should just propose at the wedding. Mitch resisted, after all it was Carley and Tian's day. In true Carley fashion, she insisted that she was present for the proposal which meant it needed to happen the night of the wedding. Mid reception Carley's dad brought Mitch back to the hotel to fetch the ring. Hannah was under the impression Mitch was at the bathroom, but a few drinks in so 20 minutes seemed like only 5. No questions asked there. We enjoyed drinks, appetizers and socialization, Hannah gave a speech, and we all ate dinner. As the wedding party was enjoying casual conversation Carley encouraged Mitch and Hannah to go take a picture on the rooftop walkway, Hannah invited anyone and everyone to join. Everyone opted out, except Nic, who offered to take our picture. As we made our way to the walkway, we stopped at the bottom of the stairs for a slow dance, where a friend conveniently dropped the ring in Mitch's back pocket. We made our way up the stairs to the walkway, whilst Nic recorded the whole thing. At the end of the walkway, we stopped for a picture. Suddenly everyone down below began to clap- Hannah looked over the edge- confused she turned around to ask Mitch what was going on and he was down on one knee with a ring in his hands. & the rest, is history!
