After seven years of swiping on dating apps and going on mediocre dates, Emmy and Jacob finally matched on Hinge. Emmy thought Jacob’s picture in an ugly Christmas sweater and sporting a mustache was cute and quirky (careful folks! He might bring it back for the wedding!) Our first date was at Sidecar Social in Addison, TX, where we bonded over our obsession with the corn guacamole. Emmy confidently challenged Jacob to a ping pong match—only to discover he’s basically a secret pro. (She’s still demanding a rematch.) By our third date, we both knew there was no reason to keep seeing anyone else, and we never looked back. From that point on, our relationship grew through shared laughter, our love of games, and an almost comical obsession with food… especially adding “just a little more salt.” Throughout our first year together, we discovered how much we love traveling and finding little adventures together—whether around Dallas or in new cities. Then, on the day we moved into our first apartment, Jacob surprised Emmy with a ring hidden in one of the moving boxes. Now, we’re starting this next chapter of our lives side by side, excited to celebrate our story (and many more adventures) with all our favorite people.
