Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We ask that you please refrain from taking photographs or videos during the ceremony to allow our professional photographer to work his magic. That being said, we would just LOVE it if you could capture as many memories as possible during the rest of our wedding! Please download the app The Guest before our wedding so that any pictures you take will seamlessly be added to our shared, virtual wedding album. We'll add each of you a week or two in advance so you receive a reminder. If you opt not to participate in this option please use the hashtag #McCaulMeADenis so we can share in all of your memories on our special night!

Question

When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?

Answer

Please RSVP online by September 4, 2020. While this may seem early we recognize that COVID-19 has affected everyone differently and we need to know early on the impact of it on our wedding attendance. We appreciate your understanding and we look forward to seeing you there!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to stay on budget. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving your young kids at home, unless explicitly noted on the invite, so you can celebrate with us. There may be a few exceptions, like my baby sister Gracie who I couldn't imagine celebrating my special day without!

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Where should guests park? Is parking free?

Answer

There are many parking garages in downtown Charleston- one of which is at our venue! Unfortunately, parking is not free but we encourage you to look into options with Uber or Lyft so you can relax and enjoy your night should you wish to drink.

Question

Does your wedding have a theme?

Answer

No, we have no formal theme for our wedding- though we like to joke the theme is a decade of love.

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a suit and tie or a sports coat.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive 20 minutes before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!

Question

Will transportation be provided between to/from the hotel?

Answer

There is no need for transportation between the hotel and our venue as they are one and the same!

Question

Will the ceremony/reception be taking place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both our ceremony and reception will be in the Colonial Ballroom of the Francis Marion hotel - which will be indoors.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes, both will be held in the ballroom which is wheelchair assessable.

Question

What happens between the ceremony and reception?

Answer

There will be a cocktail hour in the Francis Marion's main foyer in between the ceremony and reception. This will feature a live pianist and an open bar. We truly hope you enjoy!

Question

Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?

Answer

We will serve a full dinner during our reception - along with an open bar! We hope you enjoy some of our favorite southern classics which will be featured each at their own carving station: 1. Macaroni and Cheese Station with a Cheddar Cheese Sauce and Wild and Oyster Mushroom Goat Cheese Sauce. Toppings Include: Bacon, Lobster, Chives, Tomatoes, Blue Cheese, Sausage & Peppers. 2. Braised Beef Short Ribs with Carolina Gold Herbed Rice Grits, Wilted Seasonal Greens, SC "Islander" Ginger Beer Demi-Glace. 3. Shrimp and Grits - Large Shrimp Sautéed with Peppers, Onions and Tasso Ham Served on Stone Ground Pepper Jack Grits with a Lobster Gravy

Question

Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

Answer

We have several friends and family members who have special dietary needs. We will offer accommodations for each of you so that you enjoy your food and night celebrating our love!

Question

Are there other wedding events I can attend?

Answer

A major consideration in hosting our wedding on a Friday was that it allowed us to spend the remainder of the weekend with our friends and family. While no formal events are planned at this time we fully anticipate many opportunities to celebrate this momentous occasion with you.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?

Answer

We have several hotel blocks across the greater Charleston area to ensure all of our guests can find a hotel that meets their budgetary needs. Please see the accommodations tab for more information!

Question

Where are you registered?

Answer

You can find our registry on the Registry tab of our website!

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Weather is still beautiful in Charleston this time of year! You can expect weather between 62 and 75 degrees with less humidity than usual. Temperatures can still reach mid 80's and the mid 50's at this time of year so bring a range of clothing to ensure you're always comfortable.

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?
