They officially became friends when Kate started doing her hair in Warwick, but Dulcia knew Kim first—proof that their paths were always meant to cross. Since then, they’ve traveled, adventured, and supported each other through life’s biggest moments. Dulcia is one of the most grounded, loyal, and light-filled people out there. She’s mom to sweet Bruno and their angel nephew Jacob, and someone Kate is endlessly grateful to have in her corner.

Just a few years younger, Carlamary was always around—especially during the time they spent together at their grandmother Carla’s house, where most of their favorite childhood memories were made. Along with Kim and Mikey, they share a matching tattoo in her honor and an unspoken tradition of always showing up for each other. She’s strong, sharp, and fiercely intelligent—the kind of person who always has a spot-on book rec or a perspective that makes you think. With her quick wit, calm presence, and unwavering loyalty, Carlamary is someone you’re just better for knowing.

Dan and Dustin met when they were 16, back in the heyday of the emo music scene. They were introduced through Dustin's sister, who used to cut Dan’s hair (yes, really). Dan was one of the first people to have a car, which naturally meant they were always rolling around, getting into trouble together. Over the years, they became great friends, sharing a love for skateboarding, music, and more recently, everything tech-related. Even after Dan joined the Navy and moved to Maryland, their bond remains strong, thanks to a shared crew of friends and an unwavering connection. Twenty years later, they still talk all the time and get in some gaming when they can.

Francisca Tapia-Santos

Francisca (aka Fran, aka Franny) is the kind of friend who sneaks up on you in the best way. She and Kate met in 2017 at work, where their bond was sealed over shared eye rolls and mutual survival tactics. Since then, she’s been a solid fixture—whether they’re grabbing drinks, decompressing on the couch, or laughing about something wildly inappropriate. Fran is sharp, hilarious, and full of heart. She’s the one who’ll say something totally unfiltered that has everyone in stitches, then turn around and remind you exactly why you’re capable of handling whatever’s in front of you. She’s one of a kind, and Kate wouldn’t want to do this without her.

Drew quickly became someone Dustin looked up to—not just for his talent as a killer drummer in local metal and hardcore bands, but for his unapologetic, badass attitude. Whether it was ditching school to skate or crashing at friends’ houses, Drew and his twin brother Will were always there, ready to make some memories and stir up trouble. Through countless adventures, ups and downs, and even a legendary fight against 20 people (where Drew defended Dustin), their bond only grew stronger. Years later, they’re still in a band together, writing music they both love. Drew is more than a friend—he’s family, a true brother who’s always had Dustin’s back, no matter the circumstance."
