Matron of Honor
Born 11 days apart and friends ever since, Anna and I have spent most of our lives in separate cities, states, or continents, except for the three short years we were at Asbury together! We have perfected long-distance friendship and when I see her it's as if no time at all has passed. Although we have *slightly* different personalities, we benefit from each other's strengths and perspectives, and have witnessed each other's celebrations and trials our entire lives.
Best Man
What can be said about a friend that has been with you since day one? Stephen and I literally been friends our entire lives. From every major event, Stephen has been there. We dyed eggs, decorated trees, played in the creek in our backyard, went to school together, we honestly did it all. Stephen is my brother, and my best friend, and I couldn't imagine anyone else standing next to me at my wedding.
Bridesmaid
In 1988, Ashley's father, who had two older sons like my parents, walked up to my mom and dad with newborn Ashley in his arms and said, "Y'all need to get one o' these." Around 9 months later, I was born. In addition to my very existence, I owe a lot to Ashley— she befriended me when I moved back to the States, helped me tame my curly hair a few years later, and has stuck with me through 15 years of friendship.
Groomsman
Cam and I became friends through study sessions in college, and since then have had countless discussions of books, movies, and video games. I'm also pretty sure that the queso from El Amigo is the true binding agent in our relationship. Not to mention, I never would have met Marie-Claire without him!
Bridesmaid
After bonding in 2001 over the genius of Weird Al, Em-Cat and I stayed in touch until I moved back to Marietta, when she helped me assimilate as much as possible into American culture (including helping me memorize the Pledge of Allegiance). We've been close ever since, and we have no shortage of strange and hilarious memories together.
Groomsman
I have known Will a long time and he is one of the friends I always make time to see when I'm back in Milledgeville. He has been a constant in my life for many years, and I am honored that he is still a part of my life today.
Bridesmaid
Taylor is the best sister-in-law I could have asked for, and always makes me feel important and heard. Taylor and my oldest brother Harrison met their first year of college when I was still in high school, so she has been in my life through so many different stages: the good, the bad, and the awkward.
Groomsman
I’ve never had an older brother before, but if I did I hope he would be like Harrison. He is wise, reserved, and the hardest worker that I have ever met. He is a friend and a role model. If you need something done, Harrison will do it and MORE! Note from MC: Well I DO have an older brother, and Harrison is the classic archetype: he defends you, punches you, and makes you laugh in a span of 30 seconds. He is super intentional, fun, and has one of the most infectious laughs I've ever heard.
Bridesmaid
I feel bad for anyone who doesn't know Hillary. She is one of my favorite people, and always brings the (well-planned, expertly decorated) party with her wherever she goes. She is one of the biggest cheerleaders in my relationship with Jared and I am so grateful for her encouragement, advice, and enthusiasm.
Groomsman
Elliott is one of the most family-oriented people I have ever met and he always wants to get the family together. He is loyal and hilarious. It took him a bit to warm up to me, but now he makes me feel like a part of this family. Note from MC: Elliott and I get each other's strange humor and he makes me laugh so hard while everyone around is confused and unamused. We have a true lifetime of memories together, many of which involve watching him play Mario Kart while listening to DC Talk. He's smart, talented, and loves chocolate milk.
Bridesmaid
Rachel welcomed me into her life without hesitation as her future sister-in-law— something I didn't take for granted. We became friends quickly and I love goofing off with her and Jared, and have loved becoming closer over the past few months. Note from Jared: My life was pretty great for a solid two years. Then, Rachel was born and my life has never been the same since that fateful December day. I got less attention and into WAY more trouble. As we've gotten older, I'm grateful God saw fit to give me a sister who loves me for my weirdness and embraces it with me.
Groomsman
If you need a sassy but caring friend in your life, Benjamin is your guy. Benjamin and I became close quickly after bunking together for a week in France. Our late-night chats and laughs helped us solidify our friendship. Note from MC: Benjamin and I had to share a room for far too long, making us frenemies for a while. Now, we tag each other in memes and watch comic book movies together. We've come a long way!
Bridesmaid
Maria is a loyal, affirming friend and one of the best gifts of my mid-twenties. After figuring out we had a lot in common (including our disarming sarcasm), we became friends quickly. We've made some amazing memories together, including two trips to France where we ran through the hills of Normandy, drinking apple cider and feasting on mussels in cream sauce.
Groomsman
Like most stories in my life, this one is centered around video games. Clint and I have known each other since middle school, but became close in our senior year of high school. He is my late night gaming buddy and the guy I talk to just about every day.
Bridesmaid
Elisa is always ultra-committed to getting the most out of every experience, whether it's eating Italian gelato three times in a day, jumping off a dock into a cold lake, or taking as many photos of French cathedrals as humanly possible. Elisa has the gift of encouragement and is an amazing listener, but also knows when you just need to lie on the floor and watch an early 2000s romantic comedy.
