Our story began in the most meaningful place—church. Week after week, we found ourselves in the same spaces, attending Sunday school, Bible study, and worship services, growing in faith side by side before we ever truly connected. Kevin first made his way a little closer by choosing a seat near Coretta. Then one Sunday, in a small but unforgettable moment, Coretta helped him with his communion cup when he was having a bit of trouble. That simple act of kindness sparked something neither of us expected. From there, conversations began—often centered around Detroit, a topic that quickly became “our thing.” Week after week, those conversations grew longer, more natural, and more meaningful. Finally, Kevin worked up the courage to ask Coretta out after service… though he didn’t even ask for her number that day! Thankfully, their paths crossed again, and Coretta helped him out one more time—this time making sure they stayed connected. From that moment on, they’ve been spending time together ever since. What makes our love special is how easy it feels. There is a natural peace in simply being together—no pressure, no pretense, just comfort, joy, and genuine connection. Being in each other’s presence is our favorite place to be, and that feeling is the greatest gift we share. We truly believe that God divinely connected us—bringing us together in His house, aligning our paths in His perfect timing, and blessing us with a love rooted in faith, peace, and purpose.
