We’re getting married!

Olivia and Matt both grew up in Shawano, and were two years apart in school. They had stood up in the same wedding back in 2011, but hadn’t crossed paths much since. On September 3, 2023, they were both at the Shawano County Fair with separate friend groups. That day at the fair there was an instant connection. They met for their first date a few days later, and quickly realized there was something more between them.

On September 27, 2023, Matt and Olivia went to a concert together in Green Bay. That’s actually the first time that Olivia met Matt’s brothers, Shane and Nathan, and his sister-in-law, Becky. After the concert, Matt officially asked Olivia to be his girlfriend. So when the couple saw that September 27th was a Saturday this year, it seemed like it was meant to be!

Matt and Olivia have spent several weekends up at the Beyer family cabin in Conover, WI. Typically it is a time to bond with Matt’s parents with estate sales and card games. On November 2, 2024, the couple had the cabin to themselves. That morning, Matt got down on one knee and asked Olivia the biggest question of her life! After saying yes, the two made a trip to the UP and celebrated with champagne and a homemade dinner.
