Question

Transport to and from the Wedding Venue

Answer

Brämhults Gård, the wedding venue, is located approximately 70 km east of Gothenburg near the city of Borås. We want to give our guests, especially those coming from abroad, a small taste of the Swedish countryside during the long, summer days. Nevertheless, its remote location has important ramifications for how guests plan their transport to and from the venue. Guests have three main options: 1. The private bus service that we will arrange (we recommend this option to all guests) 2. Public transportation plus pre-booked taxi or Uber 3. Driving

Question

1. Private Bus Service

Answer

To make arriving at the venue as easy as possible for our guests, we will arrange for a private bus service to take guests to and from the wedding venue. The bus will leave central Gothenburg at around 16:00 (4:00 PM) and the transit time will be about one hour to the venue. The bus going back will leave the venue at around 01:00 (1:00 AM) on 16 June and will drop guests off at one or more places in central Gothenburg at around 02:00 (2 AM). As with the rest of the wedding schedule, the exact time and places for both buses will be provided closer to the wedding date. Our hope is that all of our guests will celebrate with us for the duration of the event including the after party with a DJ and dancing, which will occur from about 22:00 to 00:30 (10 PM to 12:30 AM, see the Tentative Schedule section). We will provide snacks during this part of the event to ensure that guests do not go hungry. Similarly, a wide variety of drinks, both alcoholic and non, will be available (see the sections on provided food and drink below). There will also be plenty of space, both indoors and outdoors, for guests to not only party and have a great time, but also to relax and socialize. Moreover, this will be a great opportunity to enjoy the long twilight hours of midsummer in the Swedish countryside! We understand, though, that some guests might need to leave the celebration early. However, due to the costs and logistics involved, we can only offer one bus to and one bus from the venue at the aforementioned times. In the RSVP form, we ask each guest to inform us if you will be taking either one or both buses.

Question

2. Public Transportation Plus Pre-Booked Taxi or Uber

Answer

We want all guests to be aware that the wedding venue is extremely difficult to reach via public transportation and/or by walking. The nearest bus stop, called Duvgatan, is about a 30-45 min walk away and the road between the venue and the bus stop does not have a dedicated pedestrian path or sidewalk (i.e. you will need to walk on the road meant solely for automobiles). Therefore, if you know ahead of time that you will want to take alternative transportation to/from the wedding venue, we strongly recommend pre-booking a taxi or Uber to/from central Borås. Overall, the best way to reach the wedding venue from Gothenburg is as follows: - Go to Åkareplatsen, which is very close to the Gothenburg Central Station (Åkareplatsen 5, 411 03 Gothenburg, Sweden). - Take the bus (Line number 100, herein called the “100 bus”) to Borås Resecentrum (Sven Eriksonsplatsen 10, 503 38 Borås, Sweden), which is the last stop on this bus line. The travel time is about 1 hour. - Take a taxi or Uber from Borås Resecentrum to the wedding venue (Eskilsryd 7, 507 90 Brämhult, Sweden). We recommend pre-booking your taxi or Uber. The reverse route (i.e. from the wedding venue to Gothenburg) is the same, but with the steps in the opposite order. In this case, you will need to pre-book a taxi/Uber to pick you up from the wedding venue and drop you off at Borås Resecentrum. Once on the 100 Bus, you will disembark at the last stop (Åkareplatsen).

Question

2. Public Transportation Plus Pre-Booked Taxi or Uber (continued)

Answer

Other considerations using this route are: - Trying to book a taxi or Uber during the wedding to leave early may prove difficult given the low population of the surrounding area and the correspondingly low number of taxis and Ubers. When we visited the venue and tried to book an Uber to go back to central Borås, we were unable to book. This is why we recommend pre-booking a taxi or Uber. - Be sure to look up the bus times in advance. Especially later in the evening, the 100 buses go infrequently. - You must have a Västtraffik ticket for all three zones (a so-called ABC ticket), which you will need to show the bus driver when boarding the bus. - It should be possible to book a taxi or Uber all the way from Gothenburg to the venue (or vise-versa), but the cost will be high, likely more than 1000 SEK one way. The taxi services that we recommend to use are: - Taxi Göteborg, +46 31650000, www.taxigoteborg.se/en - Sverige Taxi, +46 33127070, https://www.sverigetaxi.se/boras Booking via the Uber app should also work. For more information on the public transport system, please refer to our wedding website for details on public transportation under the tab “Travel Information for Guests” and in the section “Getting Around Gothenburg and Sweden.” Please also see Västtrafik’s website: https://www.vasttrafik.se/en/

Question

3. Driving to the Wedding Venue

Answer

There is free parking at the venue and guests will be able to leave their cars there overnight without issue. For our international guests, please be aware that if you decide to drive to and from the venue, Sweden has strict laws regarding driving under the influence of alcohol. Even one beer or wine could put one over the legal limit for driving (0.02% BAC). Please refer to our wedding website for details on driving in Sweden under the tab “Travel Information for Guests” and in the section “Renting a Car in Sweden.”

Question

Children at the Wedding and Childcare Services

Answer

While we love and adore your children, we believe that parents should have a night off to be able to fully celebrate with us. Therefore, we kindly ask parents to refrain from bringing their children and instead arrange for childcare/babysitting services ahead of time. We have organized three informal events after the wedding where guests are encouraged to bring along their children. Please refer to the events from Tuesday, 18 June to Friday, 21 June on the wedding website under the tab “Schedule of Events.” For childcare services during the wedding, we can recommend the following options: https://my-nanny.se/babysitter/ https://nanny.nu/en/ https://nannypoppins.se/babysitter/

Question

Wedding Attire

Answer

The attire for the wedding is semi-formal to formal. Depending on the weather forecast, we recommend guests to bring a light jacket as the temperature can sometimes drop at night, even during the summer. If rain is in the forecast, please bring a rain jacket.

Question

Photos during the Wedding Ceremony

Answer

We have hired a professional photographer to take pictures throughout the wedding. During the wedding ceremony, the photographer has requested that guests refrain from taking photos and instead focus on the ceremony. The reason for this is that, many times when people take photos, they stand up, move out of their seats, and/or put their phone and hands in the air to obtain better shots; all of these movements can block the photographer’s line-of-sight and, additionally, make for unaesthetic backgrounds in the photographer’s pictures. We would like the photographer to be able to take the best photos possible during the ceremony. We will be sure to share the photos with everyone, so there is no need to worry about receiving photos of the ceremony. During all other parts of the wedding, we encourage guests to take photos with their phones and cameras.

Question

Dinner and Provided Food during the Wedding

Answer

We will provide some light snacks before dinner. During the after party, we will provide snacks to ensure that guests do not go hungry. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please inform us in the RSVP form.

Question

Alcohol and Provided Drinks during the Wedding

Answer

We will provide a few glasses of wine (or non-alcoholic alternatives) to each guest during the pre-wedding ceremony mingling and during the dinner. After the dinner, guests will be able to purchase their own drinks including soda, beer, wine, hard alcohol (spirits), and mixed drinks. Please bring along a credit or debit card as cash payments will not be accepted. Water, both sparkling and still, will be provided throughout the wedding free of charge. If you prefer non-alcoholic wine or other beverages, please inform us on the RSVP form.

Question

How and When to RSVP for the Wedding

Answer

We have created a Google Form for our wedding RSVPs. Please find the link to the form below. We ask that you fill out one form per guest who will be attending our wedding. We kindly ask all guests to please RSVP as soon as possible. For both us and the wedding venue, we need to get an accurate estimate of costs and number of attendees. We will send out a few reminder emails to those guests who haven't responded. Link to the Google Form to RSVP “yes”: https://forms.gle/gYXrAsaH6prVnw8J6 If you cannot attend, please email us at our wedding email: samwedsmbali@gmail.com.

Question

Post-Wedding Informal Events

Answer

Answer

The informal activities will have their own RSVP form, which we will send out at a later date.
