Mark Twain's hometown is filled with little touristy attractions and is only a 30 minute drive from Quincy. See Mark Twain's home, visit a museum centered around Tom Sawyer, and eat at cute little eateries inspired by Huckleberry Fin.
About 20 minutes south of Quincy is one of Rodney and I's favorite hiking spots. This beautiful little park features an absolutely gorgeous natural rock quarry with a shallow creek flowing through it. About 2 miles into the trail there is an old bridge hidden in the middle of the woods, which was historically used as a guide-post for horse-and-buggy travelers venturing between Hannibal and Quincy.
The Great River Film Festival will have it's second annual event on the same weekend as our wedding. This event is being held at The Atrium Hotel in downtown Quincy from October 5th to the 8th.
If you have kiddos who have some extra energy they need to get out, we recommend The Kroc Center in downtown Quincy. There is an indoor water park, rock climbing wall, and gym at a very affordable daily rate.
