Funny enough, Ryan and Maya met an engagement party. The two of them were there for a mutual friend; Brittney. Brittney and Maya had been working together and were friends and Ryan and Brittney are first cousins. Shortly after finding out they had graduated from the same college some 4 years apart, Maya and Ryan continued their conversation. Instead of taking a uber home, Ryan offered to drive Maya and her friend home. Ryan was able to get her number at the party, and when she texted him thanking him again for the ride, he decided to shoot his shot and ask to take her out.
