Richard and Maya met at Mississippi College, a Christian University, during orientation in 2015. Richard first spotted Maya in the ID line. He tried to get her attention but failed. He would not let this deter him though. His second attempt was later that night at the school's social event. Richard and his friend Krishun Cash approached Maya and her friend. They began to play games and converse all night into the early morning. This night sparked a flame that would be the basis of their relationship. Throughout the 9-year relationship, it has remained. Whether through making lifetime memories during trips or staying a night at home. They love trying new things, making friends, and generally being together. They look forward to continuing to do these things and more once they are joined as one.
