Wedding Party

Meet Jennah & Ben, our siblings who are walking down the aisle with us!

Jennah Rahwanji

Maid of Honor

Jennah is Maya's younger sister and coordinator of this entire weekend. Without Jennah, none of us would be organized enough to make this wedding happen. Maya and Jennah have always been close (sometimes at the force of their parents, Lisa and Sae'd), together they travel the world, laugh at pictures of babies while snuggling with Buster, talk for way too long about Peloton, regularly annoy their parents, explore New York and support and champion each other. If you know Jennah, then you know that she's (i) loyal; including hitting a boy when he's being mean to her #1 sister, (ii) selfless, like staying in New York to spend Christmas with Maya even though she had COVID because she didn't want her to be alone, (iii) direct, e.g., assigning tasks at family meetings, and (iv) lovable, always having a crew of people surrounding and wanting to be with her. Maya is fortunate and blessed to have a beautiful and caring woman like Jennah standing next to her at our wedding.

Benjamin Ali Taha

Best Man

Ben has always been a steadying force in Ahmed's life. When Ben could first speak and learned Ahmed's name, he couldn't quite pronounce it and Ahmed became "Apple." For 26 years, Ben has brought joy and energy to the Taha household. He provides affirmation to family members and stresses the importance of equality for all. Ahmed is reliant on Ben's perspective. He seeks his guidance for the most difficult of conversations and also the most trivial and fun. Ben is Ahmed's resident Brooklyn expert. He has a diverse set of friends from home, Penn State, and New York City, all of whom he keeps in contact with regularly. You can count on Ben to have a good conversation. You can count on Ben in every sense. He is thoughtful and he is a friend to all.
