Officiant
Rebecca was Kaylee's roommate when she first moved to Utah. To Max's dismay, Kaylee refused to move in with him when she moved to Utah right away due to feeling like it would be too many transitions at once. It worked out great because then Kaylee and Max went through the roughest stretch of their relationship, and Rebecca was there. Rebecca later told Kaylee "I want to get to know Max more without you because your personality is so dominant" so she took time to spend time and get to know Max on her own. Since then she has championed us as a couple through good and bad and has always pointed out how well suited we are for each other. She has become a dear friend to the both of us and we are so happy that she agreed to marry us on our wedding day as she's become so pivotal in our lives while living here in Utah.
Maid of Honor
Allison is Kaylee's best friend from childhood. They met in second grade and have been relatively inseparable since then. Their average facetime call is no less than 2 hours, and must end with the ASL sign for "I love you." Pi day is a national holiday in their friendship because in middle school Allison would always get off the bus around 3:14pm and then call Kaylee for the rest of the ride home. In high school Kaylee once was "grounded from Allison" and to get around that would go on a "bike ride" to Allison's house. Kaylee and Allison always imagined two things happening when Kaylee got married: Allison would be MOH and Kaylee would walk down the aisle to "My Best Friend's Brother" by Victoria Justice to marry one of Allison's brothers.... Since the second part won't be happening (Bourelle Boys' loss!) Kaylee's Maid of Honor role couldn't have been filled by anyone else. <3
Bridesman
Chance is one of Kaylee's best friends from high school, though Kaylee spent a lot of time in those 4 years trying to get him to acknowledge that they were friends in public. Their friendship has faced a lot of questions due to others thinking it's impossible for them to be "just friends." It is very possible, and the truth is... Chance and Kaylee have simply leaned on each-other a lot. There's a lot of understanding and care between the two of them. Kaylee says that Chance is the one person who she feels shows up for her no matter where she's living and how long it's been. He's a very special person in Kaylee's life and she couldn't get married without him up there with her. Plus, he's very silly and will make sure everyone is having a great time.
Bridesmaid
Riley is Kaylee's first cousin on her dad's side. Riley lives in the infamous "up north" near Frankfort Michigan that Kaylee would go to many times a year to spend time with that side of the family. Riley is the one Kaylee did HSM dance-a-longs to, and the one who stumbled upon the movie about RFK that got Kaylee interested in the organization. Beyond that, Riley and Kaylee have bonded a lot about sports, trying to figure out relationships, sorting through how complicated life can be, and being comfortable with who they are and how they show up. Kaylee's dad once said "You know, I can see that you and Riley are close and that's pretty cool" to which they both agree, and that's why she'll be standing up with Kaylee on her wedding day.
Bridesman
Erik is Kaylee's best friend from Binghamton University. He says that "Kaylee showed up, and never left" as they met literally the first week of school. Yet what actually got their friendship going was Erik's roommate (who Kaylee was initially closer to) got a girlfriend, and so Kaylee and Erik started hanging out to fill the David void. And the rest was history! Though Kaylee was on the basketball team, all her free time was spent with her swim and dive friends. Kaylee and Erik's friendship has been filled with so much laughter and adventure. Navigating life apart once they both moved on from NY was hard though they strive to see each other once a year and it's like nothing has changed. You'll see how ridiculous and extravagant Erik and Kaylee can get when you hear "Breakaway" by Kelly Clarkson come on at the wedding.
Bridesmaid
Sarah is Kaylee's closest friend from her brief stint in Ann Arbor. Sarah is actually the one who got Kaylee on the dangly earring kick as well as the obsession with Trader Joe's autumnal pasta sauce. Sarah and Kaylee met through a women's group at church and truly bonded from "keeping it real" by talking about deep subjects and their inner thoughts. Sarah and Kaylee keep up with each other through the app Marco Polo these days and rely on each other to share uncensored thoughts and feelings. It's a true privilege that in their friendship they are completely safe to be authentic to who they are. It's a special connection, which is why she's standing with Kaylee on her wedding day.
Best Man
Marty started as a Mu Sigma Colleague and quickly became a close friend while Max was living in Chicago and beyond. They share a love of all things sports, grilling, and exploring/ learning about new cultures. Max is so excited for Marty to be his best man as he is a rare instance of a colleague who made it out of the "work-friend" zone. Marty's hobbies include baseball, golf, and music appreciation though it's his character and friendship that makes him the right guy to be standing next to Max...even though he's a bear's fan (poor guy).
Groomsman
Devitt and Max have known each other since the 5th grade after bonding over "Mad Magazine" but they soon discovered they had more in common than just that, including comic books, movies, and a love for the arts. Max's favorite thing about Dev is his enthusiasm and curiosity for life. Dev is a talented thespian, artist, and musician who is an aspiring voice actor. As they've grown up, their friendship has stayed youthful and enriching which is why it's so important he be standing with Max as a groomsman on his wedding day.
Groomsman
Max and Alex first met at Incarnation Camp in the summer of 2008. Alex stood out to Max because he was the only 11 year old in the 12-13s group and Max appreciated his intellect and creativity. Come to find out, Alex admired Max's sister Leah, and they started dating almost immediately, then married in 2023. For Max, having Alex in the family for so long has been like having a brother- which is why Alex will be standing up with Max as he gets married.
Groomsman
Ade and Max first became friends on the train to their high school Fordham Prep in NYC. Ade later invited Max to a Diversity Alliance meeting which sparked Max's passion for social equity. The two of them were co-presidents of the organization their senior year and spent it traveling through NYC to other alliance events. The two continued to be friends after high school, at which point they both prioritized their love of music at the forefront of their friendship. Max couldn't envision this day without him as Ade is unapologetically genuine and encourages the same from everyone he meets.
Groomsman
Trip is a second recorded instance of a work colleague making it out of the "work-friend" zone, as they first met at Goldman after Max moved to SLC, UT. Max and Trip discovered a common ground in comic books and movies, along with a love for billiards and pickleback shots. Throughout Max's time in Utah, Trip has consistently been a voice of reason and someone Max can truly be himself with which is why it's so important Trip is up with Max on his wedding day.
Flower Girl
Kaylee's first niece Natalee will be the Bride and Groom's flower girl. She will be accompanied by her "flower dad" aka Chad Wasco, the brother of the bride. Also funny story, after this picture was taken, Chad totally tipped their Kayak and Natalee fell into the cold river.
