March 2014, my junior year. I was sitting in my AP Studio Art classroom before class began. Abruptly my friend walks over and sets her phone down next to me. On it was a photo of a guy I had never seen before. She asked me if I thought he was cute (he absolutely was). When I told her yes she replied "He's looking for a date to prom. I'll give him your number" and then walked to her seat. I spent the entire class thinking about this mystery man. After school I got a text from an unknown number. "Hello this is Noah". It wasn't until a few days (and many text conversations) later that we made plans to meet in person. Tomorrow morning at school, outside my photography classroom. I remember the moment I got his text saying "I'm here" and the butterflies in my stomach as I walked out into the hall. I knew right then and there that this wasn't just a prom date, I was smitten. April 1st he asked me to be his girlfriend and I've been an April Fool for him ever since.
Our love story started a little earlier than Megan originally knew. It was February 2014, my senior year. The morning started like every other, that is until I got to school. I was entering through Door C when my eyes caught sight of a group of people engaged in conversation. Among them was the most captivating girl I had ever seen. Unfortunately I didn’t know any of them so I was too nervous to go and talk to her. I found myself repeatedly entering through that same door, hoping to maybe see her there again. But I didn't. In a school as vast as ours, with over 4,000 students, the odds of crossing paths again felt slim. Fast forward to mid-March, amidst the chaos of a fire drill. As I walked out of the building I spotted her, and this time she was talking with a friend of mine. I now had a way to figure out who she was. I was looking for a date to prom so I asked my friend for an introduction. The next day, with her number in hand, I sent that first text, hoping to start a conversation. Luckily she was super easy to talk to. When we decided to meet outside of her photography class I was so excited and ready to finally speak to her in person. When I saw her I knew that I wanted her to be more than just my prom date. "Now I have to win her over" is what I thought to myself. I eventually got the courage to ask her out on April 1st. I figured I could play it off as an April Fools joke if she rejected me. Luckily I didn't have to because she said yes. I felt like the happiest man in the world in that moment.
November 2021, Megan and Noah embarked on a joint endeavor that would shape their future. Together, they designed a ring, a symbol of their shared commitment and devotion. However, Megan remained unaware of the ring's completion date or the details of Noah's proposal plan. In mid-December, Noah discreetly retrieved the ring, skillfully concealing his actions to maintain the element of surprise. Back home for the holidays, he navigated family gatherings, artfully deflecting questions about the ring's status. As New Year's Eve approached, Noah and Megan planned a visit to one of Megan's favorite places: her Grandpa Jack's chalet. As the ball dropped and the countdown began, Noah looked lovingly into Megan’s eyes and said “This is going to be a great year. Are you ready?”. When the clock struck midnight, Noah seized the moment, dropping to one knee and proposing. With a resounding "Yes," Megan accepted Noah's proposal, marking the beginning of their next chapter together. Grateful for their journey of ten years and excited for the adventures that lie ahead, they eagerly anticipate celebrating their love and commitment with family and friends.
