Question

what should i expect?

Answer

Think less traditional “wedding" and more laid-back getaway with our favorite people. We’ll be taking over a couple boutique hotels, spending lots of time at the beach and pool, grabbing drinks and dinners around town, and just spending quality time together. Aside from a few planned moments, we hope you explore the island, relax, and truly enjoy the time away. We love this place so much and can’t wait to share all our favorite spots with you!

Question

can I bring a date?

Answer

This is a very intimate wedding, so unless a guest is specifically noted on the invitation, we’re unfortunately unable to accommodate plus-ones.

Question

are kids welcome?

Answer

While we adore your little ones, our wedding will be 21+ and invitation only. Thank you so much for understanding!

Question

what time should i arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive 15-20 minutes before the start time.

Question

is there a dress code?

Answer

Friday: Cocktail attire—think midi dresses, long skirts with a dressy top, block heels and playful accessories. For the fellas, we recommend a suit (no tie needed!) Color palette is muted neutrals and earth tones: browns, olive and sage green, champagne, mustard, and similar hues. We will be outside so plan accordingly. Please refer to "Outfit Inspo" tab for visuals to help guide you. Please note: this is meant to be a guide, not a strict requirement, so please wear whatever you have on hand/feel most comfortable in! Saturday: Cocktail attire— think midi dresses, fun skirts and dressy tops, block heels, and bold accessories. For the fellas: pants and a nice shirt (no jacket/tie!). Color palette is bright and vibrant: reds, oranges, bright yellow, bright greens, etc. Have fun with it! We will be outside so plan accordingly. Please refer to "Outfit Inspo" tab for visuals to help guide you. Please note: this is meant to be a guide, not a strict requirement, so please wear whatever you have on hand/feel most comfortable in! **We will be on the sand/beach Saturday evening**

Question

anything to know before i go?

Answer

GETTING AROUND: Holbox is a car-free island, no cars or taxis. You can get everywhere by golf cart taxi or bike, though most places are within walking distance. CASH & PAYMENTS: We recommend bringing a mix of payment options. Exchange currency before traveling or withdraw pesos from ATMs on the island. Most places accept credit cards, but many charge an additional ~5% fee, so having cash on hand is very helpful. TIPPING: 10 - 15% is standard; 15% is common in touristy areas, with more for exceptional service. Check for “servicio/propina” on the bill first; some places add a tip automatically. ELECTRICITY & WIFI: Wi-Fi can be slow or spotty, and occasional power outages happen. It's all part of the charm, the perfect excuse to unplug and enjoy island time. BUG SPRAY IS A MUST: Mosquitoes can be especially active in the evenings. Apply bug spray before dinner or sunset beach time. SUN & HEAT: The sun is strong! Pack reef-safe sunscreen, stay hydrated + take advantage of the breeze when you can. WATER: Drinking water and ice served at reputable restaurants, bars and hotels are filtered and generally safe, but tap water itself is not potable. Bottled water is widely available. If you’re being very cautious, you might skip ice at small street stalls. ISLAND TIME: Things move a little slower in Holbox: service may take longer than you're used to, but that's part of the magic. Relax, be patient, and enjoy the moment.
