Things To Do

Welcome to Upstate New York! Our wedding will be taking place in Canandaigua which is part of the Finger Lakes region. The Finger Lakes were formed by the advance of ice masses during the most recent Ice Age and created by retreating glaciers 10,000 years ago. Iroquois tribes, including the Seneca and Cayuga nations, settled in the region many years before Europeans reached the continent. The name Canandaigua is derived from the Seneca word “Ganondagan” which means “the chosen spot” (and you can visit the location!) Canandaigua Lake is the 4th largest of the eleven Finger Lakes. The city of Canandaigua is located at the northern end and the village of Naples is several miles south of the southern end. This place is full of great nature areas, wineries, breweries and more! So take a look at some amazing activities!
