Katie Labuda

Maid of Honor

We met: In high school, on an online chat room for Catholic teens. About: Loves Edith Stein, Austin, Brontë, and the Inklings. Has such strong aesthetics that she used to joke about finding a guy to date named “Matt Black.” Masterful maker of pies. Mama to Lily (my goddaughter!), Edith, and Eleanor. Unlike me: Loves Campari.

Karl Horcher

Best Man

My older brother and a lover of Hemingway, philosophy, craft brews, and coffee.

Sheila Applegate

Bridesmaid

We met: Going to all the same groups for years, and eventually getting drinks down the street. About: Loves world cultures, and history. Gives great book suggestions. Has gone on the Camino twice. Is applying for Italian citizenship. Makes her own limoncello and ginger beer. Has the cutest little fluffer named Simba. Unlike me: Has a capsule wardrobe.

John Horcher

Groomsman

My younger brother and a dervish on the dance floor. Sometimes quiet, sometimes the biggest personality in the room, and always unpredictable.

Elizabeth Bennett

Bridesmaid

We met: Years before we really got to know each other, through a mutual friend. Then again, later on, and it was so lovely. About: Loves drawing, and pottery. Has an enviable linen dress collection. Walks everywhere. Goes on the cutest coffee shop dates with her kiddos - Elodie, Ambrose, and Leo. Unlike me: Can crochet.

Christian Horcher

Groomsman

The cousin I spent the most time with as a kid; sleepovers, swapping stories, watching football. A enthusiastic and earnest man that I'm proud to know.

Marti Eisenbrandt

Bridesmaid

We met: At her dear grandmother’s (who I used to work for) funeral. About: Loves museums, and music, and art. Flawlessly fashionable. Excellent taste in sushi. Always has a sparkling water in her purse. Momma to Sebastian Jude (my godson!). Unlike me: Is allergic to Triple Sec.

Kazuma Rangarajan

Groomsman

A college classmate and best friend, we spent many nights that turned into mornings finishing design projects together. A few of his favorite things are technical music, the gun range, kendo, and his rambunctious dog: Rocky.

Maria Ference

Bridesmaid

Met: For real? The day she walked into my office wearing a blow-up dinosaur suit. About: Loves pizza, gelato, and all things Italy. At the same time, is a loyal Ohioan. A self-proclaimed crunchy girly. Mama to Margaret Mary. Unlike me: Is weirdly comfortable around tornadoes.

Anne Horcher

Bridesmaid

We met: At Notre Dame, when I was there for a conference. About: Loves Austen. Great at knitting and baking. Has a sourdough starter named Sylvester. Wrote her M.A thesis about the social impact of sacramental confession. Unlike me: Has TEA in the morning, not coffee **brain breaking as it tries to process.**

Kait Hudak

Bridesmaid

We met: Volunteering to work on a retreat property. About: Loves adventures, and national parks, and photography, and board games. Collects holy cards. Makes the world’s best buckeyes. Has a pure-white cat named Greg. Unlike me: Has been to New Zealand (jealous).

Sarah Kerul-Kmec

Bridesmaid

We met: When she came with her (then boyfriend) to a Philokalia Ministries group. About: Just learned to make her own kimchi. Loves beautiful outdoor spaces. Makes amazing food. Guided me through my first Byzantine Divine Liturgy. Mama to Miron, Emilia, and Anastasia. Unlike me: Makes her hummus with white beans…and it’s bomb.

Kristen Schmich

Bridesmaid

Met: At church. About: Artist. Photographer. Beekeeper. Dyed her own yarn this one time and it was incredible. Makes jam, and tinctures. Takes epic road trips with her kiddos Adelaide, Willa, Oliver, Henry, Theodore, Bernadette, and Clement. Unlike me: Big fan of chickens.
