Yes!! If you would like a kids-free date night, that is 100% ok. At the same time, kids are very welcome, and we would look forward to seeing you and your littles.
Our vows will be exchanged in the context of a full Catholic Mass. Expect the ceremony to last approximately an hour and a half.
It depends on how old they are! - Kids old enough/big enough to comfortably sit at an adult-size table will be seated at designated "big kid" tables. - Little kids will be seated at kid-size tables in close proximity to their parents. - For babies, you are welcome to either hold them or to bring a highchair - whatever works best for you! All kids tables will be decked out with balloons, coloring paper, toys, etc. As we receive RSVPs, we will reach out to guests bringing children to discuss which arrangement(s) will work best for them.
We have decided to give our October wedding a decidedly Oktoberfest vibe! Dinner will be catered by Max's Allegheny Tavern. The menu - a German Sausage Buffet - includes: Knackwurst- Served W/Spicy Brown Mustard Bratwurst-Served W/Spicy Brown Mustard Kielbasa & Sauerkraut German Potato Salad Potato Pancakes W/Applesauce & Sour Cream Kase Spatzle Rolls W/Butter Please note that, in addition to the dinner buffet, kids will have access to their very own snack station throughout the night - think cheese, chips, goldfish crackers, cut-up fruit, etc...
Cocktail! We love to see our friends dressed up - silky, sparkly, shiny, velvety, sharp, and snazzy apparel would be great. If you have a fun outfit you've been waiting to wear, this is your opportunity! However, this will not be an overly formal event, so please no floor-length gowns or tuxedos.
If you are like Ren, you always worry that you will accidentally dress like one of the bridesmaids! To avoid any anxieties here, bridesmaids will be wearing floor-length dresses in varying shades of green.
The Pittsburgh Marriott City Center is right across the street from Epiphany - our wedding and reception venue - and is listed in the travel section for that reason. However, there are *many* hotel and AirBnB options in Pittsburgh, so please do whatever works best for you!
Please RSVP by September 1st.
There is still plenty of time to learn a few bangin' line dances! Ren is particularly fond of these because everyone knows what to do, and no one feels goofy. We'll be rocking out to the Cupid Shuffle (rebrand.ly/cupid_horcher), the Electric Slide (rebrand.ly/electric_horcher), the Macarena (rebrand.ly/macarena_horcher), the Cha Cha Slide (rebrand.ly/cha_horcher), and Snap Yo Fingers (rebrand.ly/snap_horcher). And don't worry - there will be hours of non-line dancing too! We can't wait to dance with you!
