We met on a online dating site with our first date being a zoo date on the hottest day of the summer. We were dripping and sweaty to say the least. After strolling, and endlessly talking, finding excuses to make the date last longer, walking from the zoo to the botanical gardens to the streets of Chicago to ice cream. We finally allowed the date to end, both knowing that what just happened on this date was the beginning of something beautiful. A never ending adventure to say the least.
We took a trip to Mexico to a beautiful all inclusive resort in Rivera Maya to celebrate our first anniversary and Max graduated from his Master in Bio Medical Sciences program. On the morning of our excursion day where we planned to go to a Cenote with zip lining, I woke up to a letter next to my bed that Max wrote to me the day after our first date. Obviously I knew this was normal romantic Max behavior but had my guesses that the proposal was happening today. We walked to the lobby to pick up our rental car, which is where Max handed me the next letter, written a few weeks after we started dating, where he wrote down that he would marry me some day and would like to propose is a beautiful place like Mexico. Max came over and I was SOBBING on the couch as I finished the letter. Max not remembering what exactly was said in the letters filled with love was confused to find me like that, but I encouraged him to keep moving with the day and we were off! We arrived at the Cenote, a sinkhole that has filled with natural water, and had a wonderful time swimming, zip-lining in the water and cliff jumping. When it was time to go, Max pulled me back to look at the gorgeous scenery one last time. It was there that he proposed. That I said yes. Once back in the car, he handed me a bundle of letters that were filled with his love and that documented all of the beautiful monumental moments from our relationship. I was floored by his perfect planning.
