We met during our freshman year at Harvard, way back in 2014, when Max joined the same a cappella group as Maeva's roommate (and bridesmaid) Fatima. At the time, we didn't find that we had much to say to each other... but we reconnected in 2018 at a Valentine's Day party hosted by the same a cappella group (shoutout to the Veritones). Sparks flew, and in no time we found ourselves in a relationship, even though Maeva was about to move to California to become a high school teacher. We decided to play the odds with long distance, and we spent the next two years racking up frequent flyer miles traveling between the east and west coasts. It ended up being a wonderful chance to explore all kinds of places around the country—and we developed great communication skills through countless, countless hours spent on FaceTime. Luckily, we both really like to talk. In the fall of 2020, Max started law school in New York City, and Maeva started a PhD two hours away in Connecticut. The train ride between our cities was a lot easier than all those previous flights, and we managed to spend almost every weekend in each other's company. In the summer of 2023, Maeva moved to NYC and Max popped the question. Now we share an apartment with our beloved cats Bruni and Little Cat, and the icing on the cake is that Maeva's sister Lucy and Max's brothers Sasha and Andreas all live very nearby in Manhattan. We feel so, so lucky for everything we've shared up to now, and we can't wait to see what the future has in store. Getting married at Memorial Church is full of special meaning for us: Maeva's parents got married there in 1994, and Max grew up only a few blocks away. We can't wait to tie the knot and celebrate life and love with our closest friends and family!
