Our Love Story

Max and Linh met each other through a mutual friend and through their love of music/music festivals and concerts. A few months after they initially met, Linh decided last minute to attend a NYE festival/rave with our mutual friend and Max. When they got there, Linh realized even though we joined a larger group, everyone was mostly coupled up or with their bestie. Since Linh didn’t really know anyone besides Max and their mutual friend, Linh told Max we had to stick together and look out for each other for the night since she knew our mutual friend would probably be off doing his own thing. Throughout the night they spent time talking to one another, while also enjoying listening to some of their favorite artists. Their spark was instant. At midnight, Linh and Max shared their first kiss. A week later, they literally spent the whole weekend with one another. Linh's pup Mila instantly loved him as well. Max asked Linh to be his girlfriend on 01/20/2019, the day of the Super Blood Wolf Moon of 2019 (full moon and total lunar eclipse). They dated long distance for almost a year, when he lived in Bakersfield and she lived in Los Angeles. He would sometimes come right after work to see her. Linh knew the love was real when he’d make that commute done the 5 and 405 just to see her for the night. They spent a lot of time with one another that year and they are super grateful as the following year the pandemic hit. He officially moved in with her during the pandemic, while still making his commute back to Bakersfield for work. They missed several holidays that year, as we wanted to keep our families safe. This included Christmas, where they instead drove out to Leo Carillo Beach in Malibu (this is of significance in our story later). They ended up moving to San Diego in 2021 for Linh to pursue nursing school. He quit his job and found another job to provide for them so that she could focus on school. After graduating nursing school, they wanted to stay in SD however life had other plans and work brought them back to LA. He was planning to propose on their fifth year anniversary however the weather was rainy. He ended up proposing a weekish later when the weather cleared up on 01/30/2024 at the same beach in Malibu that they spent on Christmas Day in 2020.
