Technically, yes. We had a small ceremony on September 6, 2020 to be legally married on our original date with just our families. We have been enjoying the last year as a married couple, but we really value the people in our lives and want to be able to include them in our celebration of marriage. That includes YOU so here we are getting ready for the big party now! This event will have both a ceremony and reception.
Max and I have both been vaccinated, as well as many of our family and friends. We estimate over 85% of our guest list in attendance will be vaccinated. We encourage everyone to take the necessary precautions to keep not just themselves, but also those around them safe by wearing a mask or getting vaccinated if you have not yet. The museum spaces we will be in for the reception can hold up to 400 seated so our guest count is less than 40% of maximum capacity. The museum so has a high quality air filtration system that brings in outdoor air for the artwork, but also works in our favor for this large gathering setting. We will have outdoor spaces available during the reception and cocktail hour for those who want to take a break outdoors, and an adjacent art gallery that guests are invited to enjoy throughout the night to have some more space if they’d like. We appreciate all of you for choosing to come and celebrate our marriage!
The plan is everything will be indoor! If we get a miracle and it dips below 100F the weekend of the wedding, we will have the ceremony outdoors. Summer in Phoenix is undeniably hot so just be aware and try to not leave anything valuable (electronic or meltable) in your cars.
The event is cocktail attire, but honestly dress up as fancy as you want. After over a year stuck inside, it's nice to finally be able to dress up!
This event is a formal affair at the Phoenix Art Museum. However, we are aware that many of our guests will be traveling from out of town. Please reach out to Emma or Max if you plan on bringing your children to Phoenix so we can help to make arrangements.
We recommend utilizing AirBnB or VRBO to find a place with a group! Zip codes 85004, 85016, and 85013 are all great areas and nearby the museum. Scottsdale and Phoenix are both good cities to find lodging in.
Yes! We have a casual welcome event at Max’s parents so that we can greet the out-of-towners to our city. You can RSVP on this site. This is to take place in Scottsdale on Saturday, Sept 4, 2021.
