In the spring of 2017, Max and Emma were both pursuing their bachelor's degrees at Arizona State University - Max studying social work and Emma pursuing public policy. Because of her focus on social service delivery, Emma was enrolled in three social work classes for the semester. As it turns out, so was Max in the same three classes. Emma noticed the handsome, reserved, somewhat mysterious guy in all her classes fairly early in the semester. She asked for his number (for homework and studying purposes, of course). It was only at the end of the semester that he got the hints and decided to make plans to hang out together for the summer break...
Due to COVID-19, we had to postpone our original plan of a big party at the Phoenix Art Museum. Instead we were able to host a small ceremony with just 15 of our friends and family at Max's parents' beautiful home in Scottsdale, AZ. The day was beautiful - Max greeted the few amount of family guests we had that virtually Zoom'd in, Emma walked down the aisle to the same song her mother did (the theme from "The Princess Bride"), we read our handwritten vows and our families sung a blessing over us! We crossed our T's, dotted our I's and signed that marriage license! Using Max's family's antique plate sets and glassware, we ate dinner together prepared by Emma's dad. The afternoon ended with us driving up to Sedona for a 3 day mini-honeymoon. As wonderful as the day was, we are excited to spend Sept 5 with you all as we CELEBRATE our marriage!
