Ellie and Max met through her friend Ashley Warren. Ashely met Max through his cousin Brent, while celebrating his 40th birthday at Pig Island on Percy Priest Lake. Max asked Ashley about Ellie, and from there it was an instant connection. Max was working a National Quarterback competition in Atlanta, and as soon as he arrived home, he got dressed and met Ellie and her friends downtown Nashville at FGL House. He kept telling her he couldn't wait any longer. The two began dating, which led to a proposal. On Memorial Day, Max took Ellie to Sanders Ferry Park at Old Hickory Lake, and got down on one knee, as his cousin Tyler captured the moments hidden with his camera. Speedboats and sailboats driving by on the water, all cheered as they saw Max asking for her hand in marriage. Shortly after, the two met up with both families at the Rudder restaurant in Hendersonville, owned by Max’s uncle Pat to celebrate.
