the proposal

One year after moving to Minneapolis we bought a home. Which turned out to be harder than expected. What did our home look like? Was it a 60's rambler or new construction? Turns out to no one's surprise it was a turn of the century Craftsman. The only unfortunate thing was the dining room was painted red. Knowing that I wanted to paint that room right away Max started asking me about colors. We chose a few different shades before I needed to leave town for a conference. When I returned Max said he painted some swatches and we should go take a look. So we scooped up the pup and headed over to our new house. When I walked in the room Max asked me to take a look at some paint chips on the radiator. When I turned around to show him the few that I liked painted on the ugly ass red wall was "Marry Me?" and Max with literally the most beautiful ring in front. I've never felt more understood. It was the intimate, personal, and the best way to start our life together in our new home!

the ceremony

Wait, you're already married?

On July 9th, we had a tiny ceremony in our backyard with Caitlyn's parents, Max's dad and his godmother Sherry. We just bought our home and thought this would be the perfect way for us to start this chapter of our life together. All our flowers bloomed at just the right time, and the weather even cooperated so we could stand under our homemade chuppah in our garden. Now that all the pomp and formalities are out of the way, we can't wait to celebrate with all of you!
