It all started when two reptiles found one another. After a rather "acceptable" first date, Bettina was smitten especially since Max preferred to call not text! Just as Bettina was graduating university, Max was off to explore Poland. What would have been a natural end to most stories became an unconventional beginning to theirs. Long calls beat long distance as they started falling for one another's personalities. Bettina was teased for being hung up on a boy that was 5,214 miles away while Max was plotting his return so that he could take her out on a proper date. Max called the day he landed stateside and over the next 3 years they bonded over their love of fishing, shooting, and camping. Max introduced Bettina to skiing, rafting, movies, and ice fishing. Bettina introduced Max to pastel clothes, city adventures, to having sisters, and German foods. Being family oriented meant that meeting the families was an important next step. Bettina got to meet the whole crazy loving crew all at once during a family BBQ at Barbs. She fell in love even more with Max after meeting his wonderful family and was crossing fingers and toes to call them hers one day too! Max got asked to be Jaxon's godfather and with that duty came meeting Dietrich and Birgit. Just like that Max was an immediate member of the Bostelman crew so much so that little Jaxon was the first person to ask Max when he was going to marry Aunt B. The pandemic brought them closer together as they spent most days fishing, walking the greenbelt, and exploring the mountains. Max's work took him to Savannah and boy oh boy did he have a tough time getting Bettina back on the plane after she came to visit. The next few years passed in a blur of special moments captured in small amounts of time that they were together. Finally, after 6 years of being madly in love and frustratingly apart Max moved back to Denver and asked a very important question... and she said "Yes".
