Things To Do

Here are some things in Southeast Michigan we both enjoy doing. There are (of course) many other fun things to do, but here are some suggestions to get you started!
The Wurst Bar

The Wurst Bar

705 West Cross Street, Ypsilanti, MI 48197
, (734) 485-6720

Great food for both vegetarians and meat-eaters. They also have a large drink selection and it's all pretty affordable. One of our favorite bars in Ypsilanti.

Tiny Lions lounge & adoption Center

Tiny Lions lounge & adoption Center

5245 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48103
, (734) 661-3530

This is the place where we adopted both of our cat babies, Eugene and Penelope. Although they offer adoptions for their cat residents, you are NOT required to adopt. You can (and we have many times) just go hang out with the cats and give them some love.

Slurping Turtle

Slurping Turtle

608 East Liberty Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
, (734) 887-6868

We ended up at this restaurant a couple of years ago by accident, and it has turned into our FAVORITE place to eat. If you get a moment, go try our fav: the Red Curry Ramen.

Vault of Midnight

Vault of Midnight

219 South Main Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
, (734) 998-1413

This is a super cool store where you can find both popular and more obscure comic books and other nerd culture things. We both enjoy looking around here whenever we find ourselves in Ann Arbor (or their other location in Detroit).

Palm Palace

Palm Palace

2370 Carpenter Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48108
, (734) 606-0706

GREAT food. One of our favorite places to eat. Mav took me on our first official fancy date here. We both recommend the Vegetarian Ghallaba. Mav's brother Josh would highly recommend the entire menu.

Hamburger Mary's

Hamburger Mary's

701 West Cross Street, Ypsilanti, MI 48197
, (734) 487-4000

Drag performance space/diner! This has become one of my (Sarah) favorite places. Go enjoy some great food and entertainment.

Erebus Haunted Attraction

Erebus Haunted Attraction

18 South Perry Street, Pontiac, MI 48342
, (248) 332-7884

SOOOOOO much fun. It's a multi-level haunted house. Since our wedding is in October, it will be peak spooky season time!

Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum

Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum

220 East Ann Street, Ann Arbor, MI 48104
, (734) 995-5439

If traveling with kids, this is a great thing to do with them! It's a cool science-based children's museum!

Detroit Institute of Arts

Detroit Institute of Arts

5200 Woodward Avenue, Detroit, MI 48202
, (313) 833-7900

The DIA is a great museum. Go look at some incredible art if you'll be around for a while!

Fisher Theatre

Fisher Theatre

3011 East Grand Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48202
, (313) 872-1000

Dear Evan Hansen will be touring this weekend, and for the weekends surrounding the wedding. It's a great show, and we would both highly recommend seeing it if you get the chance!

Barcade

Barcade

666 Selden Street, Detroit, MI 48201
, (313) 285-9410

We recently went here for the first time with Mav's brother and sister-in-law. We had a great time, and would recommend it to others.

Blake's Orchard & Cider Mill

Blake's Orchard & Cider Mill

17985 Armada Center Road, Armada, MI 48005
, (586) 784-5343

It's October so if you're up to some fun fall activities, consider making the drive to Blakes for some cider, donuts, apple picking, and hayrides!

For all the days along the way
