Penny and I had originally met at the Maritime Aquarium the summer of 2017–and it wasn’t until 2020 when the world shut down from Covid that we had reunited on Bumble of all platforms. I knew my journey with Penny would be interesting from her profile— “I make questionable tweets”, “I dressed as a boomer for Halloween” and many more chaotic things were highlighted on her profile. We FaceTimed in March of 2020 multiple times— before I asked her to be my girlfriend on pictochat on the Nintendo DS. We spent many days FaceTiming until ultimately meeting in person May 6th of 2020, and have been inseparable since. We spent that entire summer on and off camping in a tent in Penny’s old backyard at their former house in Darien, setting up a kiddie pool (yes the same kiddie pool that she used to throw a beach party in her dorm with Nick and Caleb), playing video games (really she played video games while I slept), taking walks to every park in Darien, Stamford, New Canaan etc., and many other chaotic adventures. We did long distance for the rest of our college careers once COVID was stable enough to go back to school, using care packages and FaceTime to fill the void and look at us now, 5 years later, married. Penny is my best friend, my wife, and genuinely the best match I could’ve had so props to Bumble I guess.
