Bride
Maureen is an amazing adventurer! She loves nothing more than to spend time outdoors in nature, except maybe to do it with Emmie! She loves spending time with her loved ones. She cares about her family above all. She also enjoys kayaking, traveling, exploring Colorado, trying new things, crafting, and morning cuddles with their dog, Crouton. Emmie's favorite thing about Maureen is that she is brave and loves to try new things! When they are exploring, Maureen always wants to push the limit, go to the edge, and dive right in! Emmie loves nothing more than to marvel at her bravery and hit record on the camera!
Bride
Emmie and Maureen enjoy many of the same things, which makes it easy to come up with ways to enjoy their free time. Emmie looks forward to weekends to enjoy their mutual interests together. Unfortunately, their taste in television shows and movies are wildly different. Emmie recently learned how to sew. She started with sewing Crouton some basic bandanas and then moved on to stuffed animals. Emmie is also very adventurous and enjoys kayaking and engaging in outdoor activities. She likes to unwind by playing video games and spending time with Crouton. Emmie loves living in Parker, Colorado but is still learning how to get around, despite it being a small town and living there for 3 years.
Matron of Honor
Megan is Maureen's younger sister and they have always shared a special bond. Maureen fondly remembers many summer walks to Walgreens with Megan, swimming in the plastic pool in the backyard with giraffe floaties, playing with legos, scrapbooking, and confiding in each other on countless occasions. They have maintained that closeness in adulthood despite the additional commitments and stressors that come along with being a grown-up. Maureen admires Megan tremendously for her continuous strength, compassion, and dedication to her family and is beyond grateful to have her in her life to share joys, comfort, and love. There is no one Maureen would rather have as her matron of honor.
Maid of Honor
Kristen is Emmie's younger sister. When Kristen joined Emmie in elementary school she loved to run up to Emmie yelling, "SISSY!" As an introverted 8 year old, Emmie loved (hated) it. As they got older, Emmie and Kristen's relationship grew and they now enjoy adulting together from afar. Emmie always calls Kristen if she needs any fashion advice. Emmie will be styled by Kristen for the wedding! If you have Kristen as a friend, you have someone who has your back no matter what. Emmie is so happy that Kristen is her sister, friend, and Maid of Honor!
Mother of the Bride
Joan is Maureen's mom and she is an incredible one. No matter what, Joan is there to help her in any way she can. Her support is unwavering. Maureen also considers Joan as her friend and they text each other daily. They enjoy living 5 minutes away from each other, which is quite an improvement from 10 years of living multiple states away. They share a deep love for crafting and sewing and even have weekly Craft Day Sundays on FaceTime together with Megan.
Mother of the Bride
Rita is Emmie's mom. Though she lives almost a thousand miles away she is always just a phone call away when anyone needs! She is described by others as one of the most self-less people out there. When Emmie was really sick and needed her gallbladder removed, Rita drove through the night from South Louisiana to North Mississippi to be there for her and help her recover. Rita comes from a big family and is the youngest of 9 children. She is very excited to add the Flynns to her family!
Father of the Bride
Patrick Flynn is Maureen's loving and dedicated father and friend. He strives to do the best he can in all of his roles and his role as a father is no different. He continually shows his love and support for Maureen through his words and actions. Patrick and Maureen share a love of coffee and craft beer. This is a big deal because they are the only members of their family who enjoy these beverages. Patrick and Maureen enjoy going to various breweries together to try new beers, such as Lucky Charms Ale and Tropical Thunder. Patrick also makes fantastic food on the smoker, which is a fairly new hobby. Maureen, Emmie, Joan, and Patrick have monthly euchre nights, which they all deeply enjoy.
Ring Bearer
Jared is Emmie's younger brother. They enjoy talking about the latest Nintendo Switch video games. Emmie remembers playing video games "with" Jared when they were younger. However, his remote was often unplugged so Emmie could play the harder levels! Jared is very thoughtful and likes to make others laugh. He has an awesome sense of humor! Maureen and Emmie are so happy he will be there for their big day.
Flower Girl
Christina is currently 6 years old but will be turning 7 shortly before the wedding. She quickly and enthusiastically agreed to be our flower girl. She also requested that we be her flower girls at her wedding. Christina loves arts and crafts, Wild Kratts, video games, and the color purple.
Flower Girl
Natalie is 4 years old. She graciously agreed to be one of our flower girls. At first she was concerned that we'd have to make the flowers ourselves but quickly agreed to the role when we said the petals and baskets would be provided for her. Natalie loves stuffies, learning about the human body, and playing baby dragon with her Aunt Maureen.
Witness
Crouton is Emmie and Maureen's constant companion. He is a 2 year old Coton de Tulear and the most perfect puppy ever. He loves to play with his toys, fetch his favorite ball, go to grandma and grandpa's house, guard his domain, dress up, pose for photos, treatos, and cuddling with his mommies. In the state of Colorado, you do not need a witness to sign your marriage certificate. You are allowed to have your dog sign as your witness with their paw. Therefore, we are extremely pleased to that Crouton will act as our witness on this momentous occasion.
Brother of the Bride
John is Maureen's older brother. He might be at the wedding but there are work complications (he works at a gold mine in Alaska). If he is in attendance, he has agreed to provide his tech, video, and photo services. He will also have a surprise role at the ceremony. This photo of John was chosen by Maureen because it reminds her of the great time they had together in Juneau in August 2019. One of the best parts of the trip was a boat tour, which involved beautiful scenery, views of orcas and humpback whales, and a mixed drink with glacier ice we picked up from the water below us. Maureen also remembers the amazing meals he made. He is a fabulous cook!
Tech
Shane is Maureen's brother-in-law and a computer wizard. He loves apple products, swimming, and wearing black t-shirts. Also, if you need help unwrapping a package, he is always there to offer his knife and services. The Cowherd's cannot attend the wedding in-person so Shane and Emmie are taking care of the tech needed at both residences to make this the best possible experience despite.
Dinner Opener
Cindy, or lovingly known as Aunt Cece, is Emmie's paternal aunt. She has always been a pillar of support for Emmie from the time she was born. Emmie fondly remembers growing up with her cousins and Aunt Cece's children, Brady and Halee. Aunt Cece loves to cook and makes the best cajun food around. We are secretly (or not so secretly) hoping that she moves to Colorado to open a restaurant!
