When should I RSVP by?

Please submit your RSVP via our wedding website by July 24, 2024.

Do you have a hotel block for guests?
Answer
Yes, please see our "Travel" page for more details including booking links. We have blocks at the Graduate and the Hilton Garden Inn that include discounted booking rates for our guests. Both are downtown Iowa City and are about a 15-20 minute drive from our venue. Rooms must be booked by July 24th to take advantage of the block. The Iowa City area has many hotel options should you choose to stay elsewhere. Please note that our wedding weekend is also the weekend before classes start at the university. Due to student move-in, we recommend booking hotel accommodations early to ensure a comfortable stay.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Answer
We recommend arriving to the venue 10-15 minutes prior to the ceremony to allow for time to park and get seated.

I have a food allergy/dietary restriction. What's the best way to let you know?
Answer
On your RSVP you will be able to indicate any allergies/dietary restrictions. Please feel free to reach out to us directly if you have any questions or concerns.

Is there parking at the venue?
Answer
Yes, there is a large parking lot on the north side of the Double Round Barn. Cars can be left overnight if needed but must be picked up by noon the next day.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
We encourage guests to wear cocktail attire (e.g. cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, and suit jackets and slacks). Please note we plan to have our ceremony outside (weather permitting), and Iowa weather in August can be unpredictable.

Can I bring a date?
Answer
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes; if not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Can we take our own photos and videos throughout the day?
Answer
Our ceremony will be unplugged. We ask that all of our guests be present with us without the distraction of phones or cameras. We have an amazing photographer who will be taking beautiful photos during the ceremony that we will be happy to share! Aside from the ceremony, you are more than welcome to take your own photos and videos throughout the reception.

What's the drink situation?
Answer
At our wedding, we'll be hosting a selection of beer, wine, seltzer, and soft drinks for our guests. Additionally, liquor will be available through a cash bar. We want everyone to have a great time and enjoy their drink of choice!
