Our story begins in our hometown of Conifer, Colorado in December 2016. One day at Conifer High School, Kasim asked Maura to eat lunch with him and snuck her off campus to get a bagel and cream cheese. Next came our first date: roller skating at Skate City. Kasim asked Maura to be his “official girlfriend” on January 17, 2017. Our time as high school sweethearts was spent cheering each other on at football, basketball, lacrosse, and dance, as well as exploring beautiful Colorado! Highschool highlights include a date at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, going to Red Rocks concerts, travelling to Kenya, and Kasim’s very creative methods of asking Maura to school dances (photo examples provided in the gallery). Kasim graduated in 2018 and went off to college at CU Boulder, and one year later Maura graduated and moved to Washington to attend Gonzaga University. These years included lots of FaceTimes, frequent flier miles, and weekend visits to each other’s campuses. We made the most of our winter and summer breaks together with lots of camping, skiing, and road trips! Once Kasim graduated from CU Boulder, he moved to Madison, Wisconsin to attend law school at UW. Maura graduated a year later, joined Kasim in Madison, and started her first job as a NICU nurse. We have loved living in Madison for the last few years and exploring Wisconsin—especially the lakes and the cheese! Kasim graduated from law school in 2025 and is now working as a lawyer in Madison. Maura still loves working as a NICU nurse, and is now studying to be a nurse practitioner at UW. Kasim planned a magical proposal on our trip to Vienna, Austria in April of 2025. On our wedding day, we will have been dating for just shy of 10 years, from ages 15 & 16 to 25 & 26. We don’t know exactly where life will take us next, but we are so grateful for the many places that have become home, the friends we’ve made along the way, and most of all, being together throughout the journey! We want to say a special thank you to all of our friends and family who have supported us and rooted for us along the way—we are so excited to get married and celebrate our love with you!
