We were both tired of dating and dating apps, but we were still holding on to the belief that there was someone out there for us! Isa had a prompt on her dating profile that said that her happiest place to be was her yoga mat. David pretty wittingly commented that must nice because that means that Isa could be happy anywhere. Rumor has it David said some other funny things. David was in a big hurry to meet Isa, so he sent her the date/time/location for their first date - August 7th (2022) at Lounge Here (Dallas). Both entered the date with high hopes, but Isa didn't think that David was nearly as funny as his profile had been. She told her friends as much. Give the guy a break, he was just nervous. Somehow David was able to talk her into a second date. The second date was better, but a day later Isa came down with COVID. To her credit, she told David she was sick - but not sick of him. Between sicknesses and travel, we only saw each other a few more times over the next few weeks. Add in that David isn't an active texter/caller, and Isa wasn't sure where David's head was. She asked him if they were going to see each other again, and David went immediately into full-on panic mode to try to keep her. Later that day they went to Stan's Blue Note (Dallas' oldest bar) and Isa wouldn't let David kiss her after he walked her to her car. Isa claims that David didn't try to kiss her, but that sounds crazy right? Things picked up from that day. Eventually, Isa started to realize just how funny David really was. Isn't he so funny? But it was all far more than jokes. They quickly began to find a comfort in one another that they hadn't ever found before. On December 6th, 2022 - David congratulated Isa on becoming his girlfriend - which is not really how you're supposed to ask someone to be your girlfriend. Isa maintains that since David didn't technically ask her to be his girlfriend, that she's never actually been his girlfriend. A few months later, according to David, Isa accidentally ended a phone call by saying "I love you." She has never admitted to that, so you'll have to ask her if it's true or not in private (and then tell David). It took David a little longer, and on June 6th (2023) David told her that he loved her. Isa thankfully said it back!!! The rest is history that many of you have been a huge part of. If you're comfortable, during our wedding reception, please introduce yourselves to some of our friends and family that you don't know. We'd love for y'all to get to know each other and to learn how each of you played an important role in getting us to where we are today.
