What do I need to do to attend the wedding?
Answer
1. RSVP on Zola under the RSVP tab for yourself and any guests in your party, attending or not. 2. Book your hotel through our travel agency only (all guests must stay at Secrets Akumal). All travel and booking details are under the "Travel" tab. 3. Rooms must be booked and paid in full by March 18 (payment plans available). 4. Book flights on your own; the travel agent can advise but will not book flights. 5. Airport transportation can be arranged through the travel agency for a fee, or you may handle your own.

Will I need a passport?
Answer
Yes, all guests need a valid passport to enter Mexico. Make sure it is not expiring within 6 months of travel.

Is there a room block or group rate?

Yes! We’ve arranged special rates at Secrets Akumal. Please book through our wedding block with Travspot to secure your room and rate. The link posted on the travel page will take you to our travel agent's website where she can help you reserve your rooms.

When do I need to RSVP by?
Answer
Because this is a destination wedding, we kindly ask that you RSVP as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly. Our hard RSVP deadline is March 18, 2026. All resort rooms must also be paid in full by this date, so we won’t be able to accommodate responses or changes after then. Thank you so much for understanding, we truly appreciate you locking in your plans early!

Are kids allowed?

Secrets Akumal is an adult only (18+) resort. Children under 18 are not permitted on the property, even for wedding events.

How should guests tip at Secrets Akumal?
Answer
Tipping is not required but is greatly appreciated by staff. Many guests tip servers, bartenders, housekeeping, and other staff throughout their stay (e.g., a few US dollars for drinks or per meal). It’s a nice way to acknowledge excellent service.

What will the weather be like?
Answer
Early August in Akumal is hot, humid, and tropical - average highs around 86‑90°F with high humidity and occasional rain showers, as it’s part of the wet season.
