Question

How do I get there again?

Answer

The best option for everyone would be to fly into either Rome or Florence. Florence will be a more expensive flight but will be closer to the villa. Rome will be a less expensive flight as there will be more direct options but travel to the villa will be longer, but with Italy's robust train system travel from either major city will be easy. Whichever city you fly into in Italy, you’ll be able to take a train to the city of Arezzo. From Arezzo you can either take a taxi or Uber straight to the villa, it’s about 40 minute drive. Or you could have Matt and/or Vanessa pick you up :) You could rent a car, or take a bus to the city of Sansepolcro. The villa is 5km up the driveway of a 700 acre estate, so not very walkable into town once you are there. It is highly recommended that groups travelling together rent a vehicle from Arezzo to help with getting to and from the villa/town (Sansepolcro). This will also provide groups/individuals with an easier option to explore the area as taxi/uber will be scarce in the small town. Depending on how many people are staying outside of the villa we will look to book shuttle services on major event days like the wedding day and the following pool party day, but having more vehicle rentals there will help overall thus is highly recommended.

Question

What’s there to do there?

Answer

The villa has a pool and there are tons of walking/hiking trails on the property. You can arrange jeep tours and horseback rides on the property as well. The surrounding area of Sansepolcro is beautiful and tourist destinations are plentiful within an hour of the town, therefore on days outside of Sept 7th and 8th there will be plenty of time for people to explore the area if desired therefore having a car rental will make things much easier for you if you decide to explore more of the area other than the villa and the town of Sansepolcro.

Question

Anything I should bring to the villa?

Answer

Some snacks and light groceries, each villa is equipped with a full kitchen. We are catering most meals, but not 100% of them. Some alcoholic beverages if you’d like to indulge while there isn’t an event going on. Don’t worry about pool towels as they are supplied.

Question

What are the accommodations exactly?

Answer

The villa is a rustic stone farmhouse built in the 1600's and has been restored. It's divided into 6 separate apartment style units, each with their own kitchen and bathrooms. Based on the invite list we will do our best to accommodate larger and smaller groups accordingly so that you will not have to stay in the same apartment as someone you don't know very well. There may need to be some slight compromises when it comes to specific arrangements so if you would prefer to stay in a more private accommodation in the town of Sansepolcro we would completely understand and just let either Matt or Vanessa know so we can plan accordingly. The villa details can be found here -https://laconca.it/en/villas-with-private-pool/villa-vallorsaia/ It has a large pool and outdoor common areas where everyone will be able to interact and socialize. The villa is a true Tuscan experience, and we are looking forward to sharing it with everyone who chooses to stay. We just wanted to make sure everyone is aware of the specific accommodation details prior to arriving.

Question

If I don't rent a car how will I get around?

Answer

With the villa being location 5km from Sansepolcro, down a private road/driveway, it will make it hard to travel back and forth without a vehicle. The area has taxi services that can be booked in advance. Matt and Vanessa will be renting a car and can drive to and from town as needed but it would be helpful if other attendees did as well, otherwise you will have to rely on Matt/Vanessa or the taxi service which may restrict when you can travel and how far. There is public transit within the town of Sansepolcro but it does not come down the villa road. Depending on how many people are staying in town, we will look to book shuttle services to and from the villa on the major events days (wedding/pool party on Sept 7th/8th).
