Our Story

We met on Tinder pre-pandemic, both of us just having graduated college a few months prior. Our first date was at Black Eyed Suzie's, now Das Bierhalle, in downtown Bel Air. We dated for a few months, but having just gotten out of a relationship, I broke it off to focus more on myself. About 8 months later we both were in Ocean City at the same time, and we reconnected over that weekend. We’ve been inseparable ever since! After waiting 4.5 years Matt caught me by complete surprise and proposed December 14, 2024. I thought we were just going to dinner to try some new egg rolls at Das and look at Christmas lights. I had a feeling it would be happening somewhat soon so I was getting all dolled up for date night. Matt comes upstairs and puts on jeans and a t-shirt. I said, "Is that what you’re wearing?" He replied nonchalantly, "Yes, just something casual." So there I was, thinking not tonight, maybe he’s waiting for Christmas. We parked on Main Street in downtown Bel Air and he suggested we go look at the Christmas lights at the Armory. I, a sucker for Christmas lights, was excited, so we made our way there. We walked around, took in the beautiful lights, and watched the carolers warm up. He asked to take a picture up against a wall of lights. I turned around, and there he was on one knee! It was all made better when I saw his cousin’s husband, a professional photographer, capturing the whole thing! I was truly in shock and disbelief. He then had our family and friends meet us at the place we had our first date to celebrate. In typical Matt fashion, he told me an hour later that the center stone in my ring was his grandmother’s, making the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen even more special.
