Guanacaste Province
The beaches located in the Guanacaste area offer adventure, recreation, and a wide variety of activities. Popular beaches in Guanacaste include: Conchal, Flamingo, Tamarindo, Grande, and Avellanas. Arenal Volcano
Arenal is Costa Rica's most well-known volcano. There are an abundance of outdoor activities to do at the Volcano and surrounding area. Activities include: hiking rainforests, waterfalls, white water rafting, ziplining, hot springs. See Arenal, Lake Arenal, and La Fortuna.
Monteverde
Monteverde is a popular destination for it's nature, adventure, hiking, and wild animals. At one mile of elevation, the region is known for it's cloud forests, where fog and dense rainforest canopy meet. The green scenery and animals provide great sights for hiking and canopy tours along hanging bridges.
Central Pacific Beaches
The central Pacific beaches of Costa Rica are the closest ones to San Jose and known for their surfing. Jaco is a popular party beach town. Other popular beaches include Hermosa, Manuel Antonio, Herradura and Punta Leona.
