We’re getting Married! ¡Nos vamos a Casar!

Laura had just moved to Orlando for less than a month and Matthew had just been re introduced back into the dating world. As fate would have it, both of us decided to try online dating using match.com. After a week of messaging back and forth we decided to meet and get to know more about one another over a nice meal. We scheduled to meet at Maggiano’s Italian Resturaunt on I-Drive on Orlando, FL. Laura was a little late and drop dead gorgeous, I was under dressed and scared out of my mind. The first date started off with nerves and awkwardenss but ended with both of us knowing that we had truly met someone special. The second date was scheduled before we ended the evening and we began the rest of our lives together after that day, we just didn’t know it yet. God brought us together from different cultures and ideals. The love and bond we have is the most remarkable thing either of us have experienced. Laura se acababa de mudar a Orlando por menos de un mes y Matthew acababa de ser reintroducido en el mundo de las citas. Por suerte, ambos decidimos probar las citas en línea usando match.com. Después de una semana de intercambiar mensajes, decidimos reunirnos y conocernos más durante una buena comida. Programamos encontrarnos en el restaurante italiano Maggiano en I-Drive en Orlando, FL. Laura llegaba un poco tarde y estaba increíblemente hermosa, yo estaba mal vestido y asustado. La primera cita comenzó con nervios y desconfianza, pero terminó cuando ambos sabíamos que realmente habíamos conocido a alguien especial. I wanted the engagement to be as special and unique as possible. We had planned a day in St. Augustine, FL to attend a church service and visit a small chapel dedicated for the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche. It is such a beautiful chapel and with Laura and I expecting our son Christian at that moment, there couldn’t have been a more perfect place for me to ask the woman I love to give me the honor of spending our lives together. While we walked into the chapel to pray, Adriana, Efrian, Hector and Gabby prepared the proposal by laying down rose petals and having the sparkling grape juice ready to celebrate in anticipation of Laura accepting my proposal. As we exited Laura noticed the rose petals but her attention was grabbed by a bang from a cannon from the castle reenactment, which played to my favor as I was able to drop to a knee to have her turn around to see me. I honestly forgot everything I said but assure you it was amazing as she said YES! Quería que el compromiso fuera lo más especial y único posible. Habíamos planeado un día en St. Augustine, FL para asistir a un servicio religioso y visitar una pequeña capilla dedicada al Santuario Nacional de Nuestra Señora de La Leche. Es una capilla tan hermosa y con Laura y yo esperando a nuestro hijo Christian en ese momento, no habia un lugar más perfecto para pedirle a la mujer que amo que me dé el honor de pasar nuestras vidas juntos. Mientras caminábamos hacia la capilla para orar, Adriana, Efrian, Héctor y Gabby prepararon la propuesta colocando pétalos de rosa y teniendo el jugo de uva espumoso listo para celebrar en anticipación a que Laura aceptara mi propuesta. Cuando salimos, Laura notó los pétalos de rosa, pero su atención fue captada por un estallido de un cañón de la recreación del castillo, lo que jugó a mi favor ya que pude arrodillarme para que se volteara a verme. Honestamente, olvidé todo lo que dije, pero les aseguro que fue increíble porque dijo ¡SÍ!
