March 4th, 2023 was the first day they met. Kendal had been bartending in Clemson, SC for almost 2 years and Matthew was just starting out as a bouncer. Their first date was at Tokyo (a sushi restaurant in Clemson) on September 27th, 2023. Matthew asked Kendal to officially be his girlfriend in October, on Friday the 13th! In August of 2024, Kendal and Matthew were both working in Greenville, SC. Matthew had recently started his job as a firefighter and Kendal was beginning her job as a legal investigator. They got engaged on December 7th, 2024 at the Greenville Christmas Market in front of the Grand Bohemian Christmas Tree.
