Matt and I met in 2019 thanks to a sport we both love-Powerlifting. We were both competing in the same meet and were at the meet site the day before doing rack heights and weigh-ins. While waiting in line for my squat height, I heard a voice behind me compliment my shirt. I was wearing a tie-dyed Nightmare Muscle shirt that I had gotten the summer before while rooting for Dawn at Powerlifting Nationals in Las Vegas. Matt commented on the shirt because his singlet was also from Nightmare Muscle. We talked for a bit and went on with our weigh-ins and rack heights. The next day at our meet, we found each other again. I helped video his lifts and with it being my first powerlifting meet, he was super supportive. From that day forward, we noticed that we competed in a lot of the same meets or I would be at meets where he would be a ref. Over time, we started messaging more-mainly about the two things we loved the most: powerlifting and cats. After over 3 years of messaging, talking, and competing, we met for dinner at Margarita's in Greenwood. Matt blames Tracey for dinner being just me and him because she was supposed to join us, but ended up not being able to come. After that evening with dinner, we decided to see where things would take us. Fast forward to present day and we still can't believe we are getting married in October. After countless trips over the years to Indianapolis and Kokomo, we are adjusting, learning, and enjoying living under one roof (this includes our furry babies too!). What seemed like just a dream for both of us has turned into reality and we couldn't be more excited for all the new adventures that await! We want to thank you all for being apart of our journey. To our families for their love and support, we are eternally grateful to you! To our wonderful friends who have shaped who we both are as individuals and for encouraging us every step of the way, we appreciate and cherish you from the bottom of our hearts! We are excited for you to enjoy the day with us and to continue to be part of our lives as we grow together. We love you all!
